Who? This post is where GM's can come when they set up their game and check out a list of known zombies.

What? Zombies are people who repetatively sign up for a game, and then don't even so much as vote daily in the thread, and after three days of missing votes they are subbed out or auto-lynched.

Why? Because zombies can wreck game balance if they happen to draw an important role, and they can also wreck game balance by wrecking analysis.

How? GM's can post here after their game and list those they have booted from their game for not voting. The coordinator (yours truly) edits this post to keep the record up to date. GM's can also PM the coordinator if they wish to communicate their lists in private.

After a certain amount of time and a general consensus that they have stopped their bad habits, players can be taken off this list. This list is in no way a final say on who can and can not enter a game, it is simply a notice to GM's on who may or may not be a good fit for their game, and/or allow them to plan around these people in their game set-up.

We have other threads listing people who have gotten wins, this is simply a thread listing people who have been subbed out or auto-lynched for not living up to their commitments.

In an effort to make the criteria for making the Zombie List a little clearer, I will explain the thinking behind it a little.

This is to keep the integrity of the game flowing. You don't want a GM picking every single role by hand so that active players get the best ones all the time, but you don't want a game ruined by all the "important" roles handed out to a bunch of players that will be subbed or auto-lynched after 3-6 days. Somewhere in the middle is that balance we want to reach, and that is what this thread, this whole crusade if you will, is trying to accomplish.

So now with that in mind, I will tell you how they make this list. I do not simply go look in game and write someone's name down here that was subbed out. My main source are the GM's. After that are fellow players. In order to make this list, I have to be told of their actions either by a player or a GM. As this happens, their name will appear on the list along with what game they zombie'd in, and in what month that game happened. If they repeat themselves, each game in which they zombie will appear next to their name.

To get off the list is just as simple, although with less reporting from GM's and fellow players as it is easier to see an active person than it is a zombie. To get off the list, they can show that they are an active member of the WW community and no longer their old zombie selves. Along with that, any entry over 6 months old is immediately deleted.

Also note the meaning of "zombie". This is not someone who posts twice a day and is relatively inactive. No. This is someone who signs up, maybe posts once or twice again for the entire thread, and shows generally bad form in dealing with what he/she promised to do by signing up for the game.

*By not participating, I do not mean that they were banned from a game by being on this list. I mean that they did not participate of their own volition, or they went into "retirement", or some other reason for not participating.

Werewolf LXXXIV: Aces of the Pacific:

THE_ZOMBIE signed up but never even read his role assignment and was lynched after having missed 3 days votes. As he was the seer that impacted the game somewhat. I wonder what happened to him, this isn't really like THE_SPLIT.

rexodia48 was saved from a similar fate by getting lynched for inactivity by the other players. Since he wasn't actually autolynched maybe that doesn't count?

How can you tell if he read it?

There's a read receipt option in the PM menu when you send messages, and when I look back to the game I GMed, he was subbed out for inactivity there too. Maybe we do have a zombie in our hands.

When you send a PM, scroll down below the typing box and you'll see some options. One of them is a "read reciept" which will tell you when the person you sent it to read it.

I'm surprised you've been in WW so long and never knew about that.

Edit: I.... I got emu'd....

Edit 2: What game was that, Ciry?

I'll tell you guys a little secret. Not reading the actual PM, doesn't mean you didn't read the role PM. You can let the forum forward it to your e-mail. This mail will contain the content of the PM. This way you can read PM's even when the read receipt says you didn't. It also let's you choose when you let someone believe you have read a PM. :D

But then that doesn't work if you aren't usuing invisible mode. ;)

Thanks, I've noticed that thing, but never used it. Maybe I'll use it in the future.

Had Rex made any more posts or even read the role PM?
He made two posts, and yes he did read the role assignment PM. Looking back he actually got lynched on the first day when there was a vote and while he didn't vote that day I feel it is a bit harsh to call someone a zombie for missing one single vote. My bad for bringing it up. :eek:o

I know, I had someone in a previous game that didn't appear like he had read the role assignment but he voted and posted in the thread so eventually I asked him how he could play without knowing his role...

I've been doing that for years :D

Well, at least Iḿ not the only one doing that too :)

I would not qualify Split as a zombie. He obviously had something come up in real life and had to go. If that makes him a zombie then I am as well, as I have had to go AWOL more times than anyone else here.

Well we don't know that, and if he comes back and claims that is what happened, I can always remove him then.
