Does claiming another nations throne really do anything? Honestly, it seems like just a waste of like 500 ducats.
Your other RMs aren't broken if you claim a throne, your relations with the nations you have RMs with just deteriorate a lot. The only good use is with a nation you want to attack, have a RM with, have neutral relations with, some ducats, a large nation with stability issues, and that RM is about to expire (So the CB lasts after the RM expires), oh, and NO other RMs or you break them all! In that wildly unlikely case, a royal claim is useful.![]()

How can you see when a RM is about to expire?
You hover the mouse over the little crown in the diplomatic screen (Next to "Royal marriage with ..."
I'm not sure if that works in EU2. I think that is one of the perks of FtG.
