Doesn't work on a clean install

I did a clean DD/Arma/IC install and IC will not run. It crashes once I select a single player game.

I uninstalled and reinstalled the lot in case something in the install sequence was messed up. That wasn't it.

Oh, well, it's back to AOD for me.

Did you instal patch 1.2 for Arma? They said other versions are not supported.

J.R. Wolf: a lot of people are playing Iron Cross at the moment (with some problems and different initial bugs..., certainly, but playing after all ), however your post make an impression that HoI2 Armageddon + Iron Cross is totally unplayable.

Under my personal point of view, J.R. Wolf, your statement is neither constructive nor useful at all.

You did something wrong during install, that's for sure, maybe choosed AoD instead of Armageddon.

I did a clean install with full patches. Twice. With a full set of uninstalls in between. IC won't run. Simple facts.

IC, installed by the book, does not run on a computer that runs HOI2, AOD, and HOI3 perfectly.

Conclusion: IC is messed up.

Iron Cross installer have no problems, this is also a fact it seems that you're the only one having this problem, so let's try to fix it.
Did you installed it over Arma or AoD?
if Arma, only 1.2 patch is supported. The unnofficial 1.3 patch not supported. is this maybe your problem?

I can't speak for the others but AOD 1.05 has worked for me. You say you have AOD? Maybe try that one. It is (a few bugs notwithstanding) probably a step up from aod.

Try this:
1 - Install AoD or Armageddon in c:\iron (or c:\games\iron)
2 - Install Iron Cross in c:\iron (or c:\games\iron)
3 - Play

I don't know, if you are trying to install with AoD or Armageddon

I installed IC over AoD; it runs fine. It will not work when installed over Armageddon no matter what I do.

Moral: Install it over AoD.
