I started playing CK yesterday and succeeded in grasping the basics, but I still have a lot of questions that I hope someone will be able to answer. I play CK:Deus Vult with latest beta patch.

1. Those numbers in brackets in character screen, are they maximum MAR, INT, DIP and STE grades or something else?

2. What does "diocesse" bishop do (I'm not sure how to spell that)?

3. Is there anyway to fertility of a character beside looking in save game?

4. What effects what type of troops can be raised in provinces? Power of classes in province or...?

5. Is there difference beetwen Grand Mobilisation and manual raising of all armies?

6. How important is province culture and religion? Do I get less money and loyalty if they are different from my rulers?

7. What are the advantages of TASS and DVIP mods regarding each other?

Thanks in advance.

1. Those are the combined score of your ruler and his advisor. It is the value used in most cases to calculate for events or realm actions. F.x. the combined Intrigue helps your assasination attempts and is calculated against if your court suffers an assasination attack. The combined Stewardship is what calculates how much income you get. Combined Diplomacy is used to determine loyalty gain due to diplomacy of the ruler. But only the ruler's Intrigue score is used to calculate how many provinces can be in his personal demesne.

2. They are a trigger or modifier in many, many, many events. Also having one with more than 7 DIP and a good education can have a positive influence on the education of any ecclesiastcally educated youngsters at your court. They can f.x. help you with a higher chance of conversion events to happen in your provinces, but can also accuse non-christian advisors and court members of being witches and such.

3. No ... but it is one of two stats that are semi-inherited (the other is HEALTH). So if you look for a fertile woman, you can check her family. If she has 7 siblings, that means that her parents were most likely very fertile, and there is a high chance of her also being it. Otherwise look for the 'Indulgent' and 'Lustful' traits. They both give fertility modifiers. But that doesn't ensure you plenty of heirs.

4. Power distribution, terrain and realm laws mainly.

5. Yes. If you do a grand mobilization you ask all your vassals and their vassals to mobilize for you. When you do it manually through their province sceen, you are forcing a mobilization, and they take a loyalty hit whwen you do that. But it is the loyalty towards their immediate liege, so if you are a king, you can force mobilize your dukes' vassals' troops, and it is the duke who takes the loyalty hit from his vassals, not you. Vassals can refuse Grand mobilixation and when you request mobilization to the individual vassal. But they cannot refuse you if you do it through the provine screen (click on the regiment like when you mobilize your own troops). This can only be done if they have over 50% loyalty towards the liege.

6. Not very. There are no loss of income. You can get revolt events due to the difference in culture or religion, which will affect income in the province.

7. Not sure. Both are pretty good. I advice that you make two further copies of your current CK folder and install each of the mods on those two copies (as you can't install the mods in the same directory) and try them out to see which one appeals to you.

Regarding point 6 Ive heard that having your King the same culture as your Provinces increases the chances of new technologies spreading etc, is this correct?

5. Is there difference beetwen Grand Mobilisation and manual raising of all armies?

also when you individually ask for mobilization to a duke (you as king) he will only mobilize his troops not his vassals'

That's something annoying, in my Croatia Bosnia game there was one province with 3600 but it was my duke's vassal, so 1/4 of the army out :<.

you can mobilize vassal's vassals' armies directly from the province window. They take a loyalty hit, but it is against the duke, not you.

I did that once, vassal rebelled shortly after and I had to fight his army + the other dukedom I was fighting against, then, when I won, I replaced that guy with my heir and put him under my direct command.

Stability affects whether your provinces become rich or poor and, generally, whether you get good or bad events. It changes by event only, affected by whether you are at war and a few other things.
Be sure to keep a balance in class power (each one >= 20%), otherwise the shafted class may rise up in revolt or something.

I've got another one - should I alter power of classes in provinces? What do people usually do?

Also, what does stability affect and why does it changes?

As long as they have a positive loyalty modifier, you can change it as you wish, as the affected class(es) will gain loyalty back to 100. But keep them above 5% all of them. I generally never set one below 10%.

you don't really need to change the power distribution unless you are going for religiour or cultural conversions. The effect on army composition is minimal.
