Shouldn't i get money for that?
I mean if i do Developers work, shouldn't i get payed as one?

I gave Paradox 10 perfectly functional dollars and they promised me a functional game for that.
They did not keep their promise.
Which leaves me with two or rather three options:

Looking at these two quotes, I'd like to add option four: see it as your gift to the hundreds of people who "do the developers' work" on these forums every day without expectations of payment so that you can have better games. And the thousands (like me) who also probably have played a small part in matters like that via bug reports, suggestions etc. and by simply chiming in. And the same for other companies' forums (for most to a lesser extent as not many companies listen to their players as much as Paradox).

And honestly, if the purchase price breaks your finances then waiting for reviews/comments on ANY game no matter the developer/publisher before buying just might be a good policy - that's why I'm here for instance. I've purchased a game without research exactly once in my life and that's because I knew a team member and got assurances.

Nice quote Malurous, I did not know dollars could be disfunctional.

The events are hard to read at best, incomprehensible at worst, some of them aren't even translated.

It it possible to start the game in 1933, but by 1939 it has pretty much broken itself. Hungary @ 100+ IC, SU at 200 divisions etc

The research system is built around a pretty good idea actually, it is very badly executed though.

The main problem with the game is that it solves too many problems with events, as opposed to actual programming. Making too many temporary solutions never works in the long term.

This game is a like an old boat, patching up its many leaks with events. Playing it for too long will inevitably make it sink.

I Think Iron Cross is OK but
- too many provinces in Africa
- not enough provinces in Europe
- tech tree without proper pop ups showing requirements for technologies
- Crappy translation in places
But so far i do enjoy it

Wait till you come to Britain, the provinces Soutwest of LOndon (Oxford, Reading, Portsmouth, Newport, IIRC) are very small, making them hard to target with the mouse. Same goes for some in Scotland and Wales.

Bought the game. Played the game from 1933 to 1939. Enjoyed it even though the Polish Army were hopped up on illegal substances and smashed my German Army to tiny tiny pieces. Like all HOI games, the potential is there, just needs a few patches.

I split my sides (laughing) hahahahaha!!!!! :p

A pawky gallows humor slategrey252 !!!! Brilliant. :D

They could have been illegal or laundered dollars.

See what happens when (unfinished) mods go comercial.

PS: to think i almost helped Quintelosky with the crappy Naval treaties events in the '34 mod.
Not the mention the complete caos in the Naval area of the mod.

I looked at the tech trees more closely (again) and the more i look the less the way the things are presented make sense. THough the Industrial Tree takes the cake in that respect.

As far as I know there were very few programming involved with IC as it is a mod for HoI2 type of games. Otherwise it could not function under AoD, Arma and eventually DH.
Now the prombelm with the +3 years of buildup period should somehow be addressed. It could be that for example countries start with way too many divisions in the first place.

For Germany that would be seven divisions. I don't know how much it is now.
Another point:
I suppose there is no way around the effect that the 'true' values in the Production window only become visible after a day when you loaded a saved game?

It might also have something to do with the starting year.

Which reminds me:
1933 to 1934 needs to be balanced. The scenarios start 1 and a half year apart, but at least for Germany there is ZERO difference. In that time i can research something like 20 techs at least and build around 7-12 ICs. That needs to be reflected.
