Why, how many should they have?

HOI3 at 1.0 was unplayable, EU3 1.0 was ridiculous, victoria 2 1.1 had critical bugs (rebels...), etc...

Iron cross at 1.0 is completely playable, but have several bugs, some english translation problems, nothing unfixable. Probably the worst error is the AoD + IC speed issue, but...

This is a great Hoi2 expansion, if all of us make a positive criticism and not a ""Iron Cross Disaster. Save your money - Don't buy it"", the debs will make IC a great expansion :D, in fact the debs are working and doing an awesome support in the forums, and they are correcting quickly the bugs they can.

the debs will make IC a great expansion

Which is exactly the point.
I know it was become a lost virtue among publishers and developers to only release complete, bug- and playtested product, but i remember a time when that was the exception and not the norm.
Good, now we are all unpayed and rather involuntary play- and bugtesters but i for one do not intend to let the fact slide that this is not right, that it should not be this way and that i expect better, especially from Paradox and that i will noisely hold them to the standards.

well in 1933 on mine i have 29 ic and in the 1939 start game the uk has only 121 ic i have the game setting on normal .

Thsi is the effect of the peace time modifier. Have you played Iron Cross? there are some industrialization events, didn't trigger the events in the 1933 scenario?

i have tried it today for 5 minutes you say about the industrialization events when do they appear.

5 minutes? oh well, play a little more ... the events should trigger soon in the game. Sorry don't remember the exact date, I would have to check the events file and I have no acces to them now, since i'm out of home

seems quite hard then in peacetime mode with britian you cant build anything or do many docrines .

Oh no, you will be able to do everything, You just have to play more than just 5 min :)
If you play with Britain starting in 1933 you'll be more than ready to face Germany in 1939, don't worry about that :)

oh right also i noticed the docrines dont have year dates like in previous games do you still get penalties for doing ones to early .

For the person playing Britain, let me give you some info on my game which is right now July 1939 and I am playing Germany.

To start Britain and all the allied nations choose Peacetime Industry which gives enormous boost to research and not much to production. As an example I saved my game to see where the allies are at. July 12, 1939, Britain has 158% research speed, has most of the naval doctrines built, most of the navy built and almost even with me (Germany) in Industrial. They dont have many troops granted they spent most of their materials on Naval transports and few more CL & DD's. I assume once war kicks in their Industrial Capacity will shoot up along with the manpower.

Just to give those Allied players some idea of research % they have before war. France is at 144%, USA 132%, USSR 125% and all pretty much keeping up with me as German player. I did notice that Japan has about 129% research but almost no Energy, NO MANPOWER (11) but they have defeated China in just under 2 years time and is looking to knock on India's door from what I can tell. Japan also has built (cough cough) Armor and Motorized. Never seen that from most AI playing Japan but they placed them on islands, sort of stupid I think.

Overall the game to me is quite fresh and new even with the bugs some minor some more so. For the price and the fact it attaches to a previous game makes it more then worth my time to play regardless of the issues. Completely understand some peoples view about "quality" in this day and age, but if you really look at what has been accomplished thus far with this "mod" its quite amazing. I dont think my money was wasted at all because I am playing and enjoying it and "hopefully" helping with my comments and screenshots I post here on the forum.

Lets all be "PRO-Active" instead of "RE-Active" and enjoy what we have and help where we can. I dont get paid for writing this nor do I expect it. I leave the complex decision making to those that get paid and I sit back and enjoy it for what it is worth because I for one cant program much at all. I understand the code but I dont have the patience to sit and do it! :p Lets just be happy we have something new, I for one love the new tech tree more then the same boring ones we have had from HoI2 over past 3 years, so thats my fun point atm.

so with docrines you dont have to worry about the penaties like in previous games you can just advance any certain one you like as fast as you want .

lol 5 minutes....

Mitch you obviously arent ready for UK, maybe you should try Italy. UK is difficult unless you know what your doing.

Some techs take longer but not because of the dates. It depends on the numbers, like a tech with 2's is easier to research than one with 9's.

isnt britians starting ic in 1933 abit low at 29 ic even for peacetime i thought it would of been more than what italy have got at 63

It could be justified as the recession hitting britain harder as well as no strong man to bolster it.
