Does the AI bankrupt sometimes?

Crusading against the Iberian muslims and they keep fielding 15,000 men units and it never stops!

Been fighting for 2 years and Ive been bankrupted since 6 months (had 5000 gold at the start of the war).

I can't field anymore as revolts occur everywhere and my ennemy seems alive and never runs out of money.

Nope, sadly not ... the AI is too stupid to handle the economics, so every month they are in negative, they get an event that resets the treasury to 0.

press f12 and then type gold, it's only fair. Also good for when your liege mobilizes your troops and you get in dept resultingly. But don't spend it on buildings because that would be cheap!

Fair maybe ... but it does make the game way too easy. It is not like it is hard as is.

Also you don't have to pay for upkeep when the liege mobilizes your troops. Just set upkeep to 0 and the liege pays the bill

Battling the muslims in the Iberian Peninsula and France tought she could stab me in the back in the meantime. Bad idea,

defeated France soundly, took Duke of Gascogne title and have a claim on the throne of France now.

I am sad that I should resort to cheating to neutralize the AI money advantage

Well if you play smart you don't have to cheat. The AI is moronic at times, and you should be able to easily outmaneouver them. If the Ai didn't have the money cheat, then all provinces would be empty of improvements after 100 years, except yours, and you would be able to roll over any opponent. It is a sadly needed cheap that makes the game just a little bit more challenging for the human player.

Use vassal troops whenever possible as they are free ... and don't go to war if you can't afford it. Trying to successfully crusade at the other end of the map will be hard and very very expensive. What you can do is make the vassals of your opponents pay part of the bills ... after about 100 years, most of the realms are swimming in cash .. and as you go about your crusading, declare war on smaller vassals of the enemies and usually they will quite quickly offer you their entire treasury to get peace ... 500 gold there, 800 gold here ... it all adds up.

Another plan could be to not raise more troops than you can afford (or feel you can afford) ... use them until you reach your goal or they are defeated. Then either rasie new troops or settle peace.
