Can anyone helpme locate the file where the badboy values for certain actions are located? i spent about 30 mins looking i could not find where they are defined.

Thanks

No, unfortunatly i wanted to mess around with them becuase badbuy gain + vassal rebellion + reqonquest of vassales = more badboy gain and a never ending cycle. let me ask this can you program in modifiers to badboy such as having a curch give -1 badboy per month or some such (note: not actual value i would use).

The badboy gain and loss is hardcoded.

But if you buy Deus Vult you can force-vassalize rebelling vassals and then at the same time give up your claims on their titles, this will reduce your BB.

You don't have to worry about losing those claims, since if they rebel again you automatically get claims on the titles again.

lol that fixes alot i will have to try it. does the force vassalizing option only come up for existing vassals normaly when all my vasals rebel i quit and start a new game.

thanks for the reply.

If I'm not wrong, force vassalize occurs for any entity smaller than you that you are currently in a war with. This includes rebelling vassals. Also, it can be used to force vassalize the odd count and duke who decides to join a war against you. Even if you don't have a claim against them, if they are at war, they've left themselves open for force vassalize.

O and for the rebelling vassals, no need to quit. Smash them down one at a time, let them know how generous you by recognizing their claims, while still forcing vassalage upon them, then rinse repeat until your badboy has dropped to manageable levels.

I find it annoying how Badboy doesn't affect the AI. I once tested this by making the Seljun Turks have 1000 badboy. As you know, as a human, your vassals get a -10 hit at 10 badboy. However, for the vassals of Mr. 1000 Badboy, they were happy and blissful and simply didn't care about their leader.

the option to force vassalize just does not come up what should i be looking for i have crushed every province and army that has been raised against me by my vassales? how should my peace options look if there is a duke who reblled in control of 4 counties. there is no force vasalize button i can either let the rebellious vassal retain its claim a white peace or force my claim. what do i do.

I figured out half of the problem the digital download i was runing off of (GamersGate) only has DV 1.5 which has not had the force vassalization programed in. However the patch i found in the forums does not run right the screen is all messed up and the game is an unplayable mess. does anyone know how to sucessfully patch up D V 1.5 to the DV 2.1 beta patch or some other later version

Are you sure you have actually bought Deus Vult ? An expansion to Crusader Kings.

If you have then see this on how to instal it correctly.

How can I check the current BB value?

Hover over one of your vassals. It shoulds say -x percent due to reputation. x/0.4 = BB.

So hovering over vassals loyalty shows: -2.0% due to reputation, then it means BB = 2.0/0.4 = 5.

Enjoy.

What you said makes perfect sense. However after my character became king, suddenly there is no -x percent due to reputation any more. Does this sound right to you?

You probably have a honorable reputation. Hence no negative penalty. Do some mischeif, then see if it shows up. If not, then I'm not sure why it's doing that.

If your character was first a duke (or count) and then became king, then you should 'save and reload' since when your primary title changes you should always do that. Else the game will treat you as an AI-ruler.
