Hello all,

I was just thinking that there might be a way to turn IC into the most fantastic mod of all time.

Looking at the old mod mod33, there are a TON of events that can be used for the 1933-34 period, both historical and AH.

I know IC has its bugs and those need to be worked out, but after it is running smoothly, any chance of talking with the creator of mod33 and seeing if that mod can be adapted into this one?

Chris

When I saw announcement of Iron Cross I was hoping that authors will incorporote some parts of mod33. Mod33 offers playing Historical campaing or Ahistorical campaing which is great idea. Also special units are made very well in this mod + very nice events.

Mobilization events from mod33 were a bit flop in my mind. Why?

Because the idea of starting in 33 is to give more time to develop and implement a strategy on a longer period of time prior to the war. The mobilization events simply remove all the interest of developing any strategy because for instance, you are Bulgaria, you developed in such a way that you control central Europe by 39 and wants to fight the German. Mobilization will give you 6 infantries, German mobilization with multiple waves will give 20+ troops... Why having spent 6 years growing to be able to develop an industry base, research and army apt to compete with the Reich while it will all be screwed anyway by the mobilization events?

I already let my thoughts on the mod 33 forum (others things were bothering such as manpower looses during fights). Overall, the mod was refreshing though with, as you mentioned, a lot of ahistoric possibilities and some very nice pre-war events. Plus the option to make a historic campaign anyway (in which case I would rather play another mod, but the option was there).

I think that mobilizations are very good idea. Its much more realistic wheter you want to mobilize units or increase you reservists. Bulgary could never ever fight Germany and the game reflects it. It makes game more challenging in a way. Besides mod33 is focused on playing with major powers.
