You're Personable. That's it. A Logistics bonus and "Personable". Just another pretty face...

So I´m the blue-print for Musil`s "The Man without qualities"? Good thing I`m buried alive in the logistic department.

EDIT:

OTOH, a pretty face and no qualities qualify me to be President.

You're ambitious, inconsiderate, methodical and wealthy.

Haha, take that space-peasants! :p

How do these personal qualities function in the game?

Don't forget the military career. That's the second best background you can wish for ;)

If you have room, make me a character too.

Don't care what kind, surprise me :p

January 17th 2025. Commander Coinneach successfully entered the Jump-point. An instant later, he rematerialized in the Epsilon Eridani system. One star, two Super-Jovian Gas Giants, three Jovian Gas Giants, two rocky worlds roughly the size of Earth (but boiling hot and with poisonous atmospheres), a couple of small rock-ball worlds, forty assorted moons and fifty asteroids. No bodies suitable for colonization with our given tech level.

Since there are no prospects for immediate colonization in the Epsilon Eridani system, Fleet Ops has decided not to risk Commander Coinneach for little immediate profit, and has ordered him back through the Jump-point to continue exploring the Sol system for further anomalies. Mathematical calculations indicate that there could be as many as six Jump-points in the Sol system... perhaps a different one would offer a better risk-vs-reward ratio.

Add another voice to the choir ;)

Avernite has a cold manner, is courageous, inconsiderate and has many social interests.

the new era has begun, we should name the jump point in honour of him and maybe move our fleet closer just in case.

The fleet has no Missiles in their launchers... our factories are still building them. The last thing we want to do is send it out where it might get shot at without having any way to shoot back.

is the game universe always same in different gameplays?
or is it randomized by some way?

Lieutenant Commander Arilou is now in command of the Gas Station class Scoop-Miner ESNA Shell. As soon as our Geo-Survey vessels discover a Gas Giant with Sorium in its atmosphere, you will be sent to scoop-mine the Gas Giant's atmosphere for space-fuel. You are averse to risk, ignorant and set in your ways. Read that as: cowardly, stupid and stubborn. Sorry.

Random. Very, very random. One game I got blasted the moment I poked my nose through the first Jump-point. The next game, I never DID find any of the aliens.

EDIT: a little marginal note... you may have noticed that I've designated some vessels with an ESN prefix (Earth Space Navy) and others with ESNA (Earth Space Naval Auxiliary). Naval Auxiliaries are civilian-style vessels (Freighters, Transports, Colonizers, Tugs, Oilers, etc) which have been built, purchased or requisitioned by the Navy and are operated by a Navy crew and flying the Naval ensign. They aren't as much fun as warships... but they give you a chance to take part in the game, improve your skills, earn a few points towards your next promotion... and perhaps eventually contribute to an Alien's daily carbohydrate intake. Transfers will be available to Fighter Command starting next month, and to a real warship as they come off the ways.

Looks really complex, nice!

Slightly unrelated question: does anyone know what the name of that online multi player game in which you could conquer stars, develop them, build new ships etc. while the game time was running all day long? There was a thread about it and a few paradox games where played.

Can I get a character too? This looks like fun, even though I wouldn't play it myself. Not enough free time to get into it and learn the ropes.

Sure... we're running short of ships. Did you want to command a Missile Base, an Anti-Missile Point Defense / RADAR Base, a Fighter Base... or fly a Space-Fighter? None of them will be very exciting careers at the moment. The Fighters will just be concentrating on training.

There are also several desk jobs available on the Naval Headquarters Staff.

CO of ESNA Texaco reporting for duty sir! We'll mine all the Sorium you want. Let's give those alien rat bastards a good arse-waxing! So say we all!

(I'm going for a colonel Tigh impersonation there :))

This game reminds me of this song so frikking much its insane.

no missiles for our navy? some kind of corrupt practice is going on. Heads should roll:)

I always wondered... why missiles? Isn't space the most perfect place for simple weapon like artillery? No air, very weak gravity... Unless you make those missiles guided, I don't see much reason for them.

I've named my own game "The Tripezian Empire" after the predominant booze found in a space sim I'm fond of (and which I'm contributing to the development of, Vega Strike "upon the coldest sea" http://vegastrike.sourceforge.net - you're all invited to take a look).

Although I'm thinking of rebooting the game, from the get-go I have a resource crisis far more severe than in this AAR, most of my minerals are set to run out in less than 10 years, half of them in less than 6 years and one (Uridium) in less than 2 years - and that's before I started building anything.

There is no way of deleting a game, right? Cause it's all stored in a big database.
