Hello.
First of all i would like to thank you for making a game like this. I've been waiting for years for a modern naval combat game :D

Now my question. I notice you have a lot of warships included. Do you plan to include command and control vessel? Like the Absalon class (yes im a dane).

Also, will Naval War: Arctic Circle focus on only fleet versus fleet combat? Or will there be amphibious invasions, support for land forces etc.?

EDIT:

And oh, i hope you will include the Iver Huitfeldt class if Denmark is included (to what extent btw?)

Hello Andcus,

Thanks for the encouragement! We do plan to have Danish units in the game, indeed. The two on our list is the Ivar Huitfeldt class frigate and the Absalon class flexible support ship. I can't promise both of them will be there, but they have made the wish list, so we're on the same page.

Land forces will not be in the game. Only fixed land installations (airfields, obviously, and also ports, sam batteries and radar stations) will have a direct role in the missions. However, there will be simulated support for land operations and amphibious attacks in missions, all the way up to the landing operation itself, which we don't model :)

Thanks for the quick reply. :)
Everytime you give out info i get more and more excited about this game!

Will any large land-based bombers beside the Backfire and Bear be in the game?
I don't know if the P-8 Poseidon qualifies as a bomber, but it is going to be in the game.

We're looking at the Tupolev Tu-160 "Blackjack" or the new PAK DA project; we'll see which of them is included.

The Rockwell B-1B Lancer is also likely to be included.

Just my personal opinion, but I would go with the Blackjack. It just doesn't seem very likely that the PAK DA will be in full scale production by even 2025. My reason: the design looks just a little far out there to me; it reminds me of James Cameron's Avatar. :D

I think you should consider including the LCS. Maybe not in the initial release, but definitely in DLC.
Two reasons:
1. I just can NOT get over the idea of a two combatant US Navy! :D
2. It would be the perfect ship for taking on Steregushky (not sure about the spelling) class corvettes and Matka class missile boats in Russian coastal waters.

If I were to suggest an LCS it would be the Freedom class, because of its more conventional design and less potential for issues. Plus, I think it looks cooler.

JanH your feedback towards forum members and their ideas is a model of community relations. This game forum has got some very excited people in it to include me. I would just like to say thank you to you and your team on their openness with us about all aspects of this game. Can I just give you my money now?

With the LCS, you would have to have some way of choosing a mission weapons pack (ASuW/ASW) when creating the mission. The ASuW pack would consist of 45 NLOS missiles, while the ASW pack would probably be ASROCs.
