Personally, I think it would be interesting to set it to the day Robert Baratheon died letting people play out the events that lead to the crowning of the 5 Kings. It would also be fun to see if you can keep all the Starks alive.

The death of Robert Baratheon would be an appropriate starting point, but I can't imagine any way to represent in-game the events that happened in King's Landing during the following days.

Maybe it would work better in CK2, with its built-in succession crisis system. Then, the game could start with Robert as king, but getting killed by event on day 1 to launch the crisis.

I have completed the 5 Kings scenario. Taking a few liberties with timeline events to make things interesting (Tyrion is a ruler of Vale clasmen rather than the Hand, Renly is still alive yet Robb owns Pendric Hills and is married to Jeyne). The AI doesnt seem to handle things well though. Even with Robb owning NW Westerlands and Tywin being his rival and claims on these provs they immedietly make peace and then pick on the poor Ironborn. Maybe the Ironborn shouldnt be religious enemies. Making them follow the Old Gods would stop the rest of westeros invading. Dany still does nothing, the succession with Stannis, Renly and Joffrey is awkward too, Shireen always seems to die early without producing heirs (even with her fertility and health boosted). My last few tests have seen Joffrey inheriting Renly and Stannis' kingdom titles. The original Usurper scenario seems to play ou the best.

I think I have poked and squeezed Westeros into CK1 as much as is possible. I will be holding off until CK2 and working on my own mod setting.

Aren't the Lannisters and Starks religious enemies.

Quite awesome anyway, and thanks for the effort so far.
By the way, count on me for any Westeros CK 2 project with both lore and modding :p

Siblings can't, at least not in the last version I have played. I think it's an engine limitation. When I played as Rhaegar, I had to do save-editing to get Prince Aegon and Daenerys married.

Yes. I was doing that, but it is very inconvenient. I know there is a patch which allows you to marry anyone in your court including other dynasties. Maybe someone can create a patch which enables siblings be wed.

Aren't Aegon and Dani nephew and aunt? I was able to marry them the normal way no problem in my first game with this mod. Or are mistaking Aegon with Viserys?

Did you try shrinking the Narrow Sea? I still think the main thing holding Dany back might just be that she can't afford to ship her armies over such a massive ocean.

Further Considerations:

- Do you have Tywin as a kingdom-level ally of Joffrey, or as a duchy-level vassal of him? If the former, try making Tywin a duchy level vassal of Joffrey. Keep the rivalry with Robb and the claims on the Westerlands territories, but give Joffrey a rivalry with Robb and claims on all of his titles. Joffrey can get claims on kingdom-level titles, and he seems less likely to go straight for the Ironborn due to his placement.

- Making the Ironborn Old Gods would probably help, yes. Only Damphair really cares about the Drowned God anyway. Make them Old Gods but give them some kind of religious revival event, possibly?

- Shireen dying early is kind of inevitable anyway, sadly. It's one of the reasons Stannis is the way he is.

(I'd also like to volunteer for the CK2 modding project, should you get around to it.)

One weird occurrence in my current game was that when Lancel Lannister inherited the Lordship of Casterly Rock, it was no longer ruled by House Lannister, instead by the Lordship of Darry. My save game ended up being corrupted so I reloaded an earlier save. In that one, Lancel died and Kevan inherited hm, yet House Lannister was replaced by that of Darry just as before (the heraldry, color of the regions under their control, etc).

I might have remembered wrongly. I probably did. They are indeed nephew and aunt. I think it was Aegon and Rhaenys I had to marry via save-editing (after Daenerys died giving birth to a stillborn child, the prince that wasn't promised :D).

That's just due to how CK handles titles - the first title a character acquired of their current highest tier is always the one they use as their tag. It's the same reason Robert stays Lord of the Stormlands and keeps his capital at Storm's End after defeating Aerys.

Unfortunately it isn't possible to choose any Wildling Territories and if I choose a Skagosian Country I'm not able to save.

Is there anyway to change it?

I would really like to have Mance kick some Lannister asses.

This is a fundamental problem with CK. Your best hope at fixing it is to go into the scenario files and set Mance's religion (and the religions of everything else associated with him) to "orthodox" (a.k.a. The Old Gods). You might also have to change their form of government.

This will put you at more-or-less permanent war with the other Wildlings and complicated your planned conquest of the South, though.

Nah the religion problem has been fixed for quite some time now, and this mod uses the mod that solves that. (pagan = rhllor, muslim = drowned god and jewish = whatever other, are all playable)
But all wildlings have "republican" as government so all it takes is editing the save to change their government to feudal and it will run smoothly.

Just want to stop by and say that you have done a great job with the mod, really enjoying it.

Also, were you planning on releasing the 5 kings scenario if it's finished (as said above)? If it is released already, where can I find it?

Westeros FTW! the last episode was awesome, going to load up the mod to play my fantasy... Thanks for your work on it.

I have to play robb stark and take back the north... I have too!
