An evil and ingenious attempt by a certain Norwegian games developer to drive people interested in modern naval warfare crazy?

a part of a ship that has been painted blue/ is underwater?

Sorry, I meant evil. We're evil!

I'll give you that one. You're like drug dealers with little drops of info here and there, not enough to cover our fix but enough to keep us interested. Then again, we're the addicts. In all seriousness though, can we have a clue? :p

Oh, silly me. It was of course meant to be: We're NOT evil! ;)

Clue incoming tomorrow, but first bedtime *zzZZz*

Damn you Siegman! Damn you indeed sir! :p

Siegman, Seigman, Siegeman whatever :D

I guess it's .dds file with only blue filter showing whatever there is :D

Or, black boxes of russian civilian airplanes in the bottom of the arctic sea :p

Ok, since you're all good sports and to prove we are only occasionally evil, here is the second hint. It is the same object, but it shows a bit more of the context.

gamescom teaser2.jpg

So what is it?

I'd say piece of a torpedo or piece of a ship hull

And let me guess, now when you start showing more of the image we'll end up having some 1900x1600 image but you just show around 100x100

Part of a helicopter or aircraft?

I've played enough Silent Hunter to recognize some ship parts and this is really annoying as it really looks like something that I've seen before :D

It's made of metal at least.. and it's under water.

Only thing that troubles me is the darker blue down there. Could it be submarine (or any other ship) torpedo pipe opening before the torp is shot?

I'll take a pic about that to show the similarity :D
