I still havent bought the game yet very very tempted but was slighty overwhelmed by the complex interface. The youtube tutorials only scratched the skin cells of thei game.

I'm assuming that the u2 spy planes are in this and can they be used to spy on the enemy. I'm also assuming if they have the right tecnology they will be shot down and cause a diplomatic incident ?

Well can anyone answer my question above??? Also are recon planes e.g. P3 Orions if they are in the game or there equal search/track subs units etc...... Oh and also as you start space race etc and put for example spunik up. Can you put satallites that can spy of nations?

There are LOTS of recon aircraft in game - lots of everything really - not sure if U2 is in there, only played usa for a little when I first got SRCW, in 1949 - wasn't U2 operational later, mid 50s maybe? But the Neptune is in there, so I would put money on the U2 being in there.

Recon overflights do happen - as China, U.S. has been violating my airspace on a regular basis with what I assume are recon flights, although the only one I actually identified was a C47 Skytrain. And AFAIK they do provide cassus belli for eventual declarations of war - you certainly get an 'ignore or declar war' option when they happen.

Not sure about spy satellites though.

In my games as the DDR, i regularly experience that West Germany does overpasses and have AWACS on patrol just near the border. You cannot shoot down these airplanes unless you are at war with them though, and you also have the option of "declaring war on incursions", i.e spy planes, boats and the like crossing your border.

Some planes in the AWACS cathegory are excellent spy-planes, build one or two and set up a patrol route along your border but make sure the planes does not cross it. The planes line of sight is incredible and some of the more advanced (and expensive) ones can se literally over miles and miles and miles...

As onomatopeia said, but be prepared for a diplomatic s**tstorm if they catch your spies stealing technology ;)

Can anyone give me a quick explanation if possible ;) about how to get a stable economy e.g what should I do first etc... oh and also are you able to site for example missle silos etc in friendly countries....

By the time i built my first U2's, I was able to build SR-71's, so I never put them to much use. They do have an excellent spotting range. Because they are high altitude, most enemies can't even shoot at them (even AA).
