Oh God. There is Liam Neeson. LIAM NEESON! What did make him sign up for that crap? Why didn`t anyone prevent it? :(

It has jumping alien ships.

Yupp.

When you get a flying Yamato, who needs missiles.

Made my day :D

Yeah, who needs missiles when you can throw a Yamato on on your enemies? Or carriers, more NWAC style ;)

EDIT: Watched the trailer, even if it's quite Crysis style I think I'll spend a couple of hours and watch it when it comes out, can't be that bad if you have Iowa Battleship (Correct me if I'm wrong) in the trailer :p

i wonder what excuse they use to explain why the navy still has a battleship active in 2012, why did they bring it out of reserve, for a parade or something???

Does the movie play 2012? Thats the release date as far as i know

None exist though.

Even the 2 "most recent" Battleships of the US have been modernized after all.

But yeah great premise for an alien invasion movie. Get the Yamato, the Bismarck and the (choose your fav from the Iowa class, dunno how modernization would render them vulnerable to EMP) and see them shooting up Aliens.

the battleships themselves were not hit by emp but all the modern day destroyers cruisers submarines and carriers were hit by emp.so they reactive the battle ships. In real life the battleships bb-64 and bb-61 can be reactived in like 6 months or something like that.

bb-64 is a musuem i visited it this moth but it is still in a state of readiness like you cant go below decks of the ship because of that and you can only go on the top deck. the ship is pretty awesome if u get to see in Norfolk Virginia

No it cannot. Reactivation costs vary depending on who you ask reactivating any one of them will cost between $300 million to $1bn.
And after all that you still end up with a ship with essentially no means of self defence.

What about the Royal Navy or the French fleet? I want to see HMS Hood, HMS Vangaurd or the Richelieu.
