I am very interested to see how trade is modeled and its interaction with naval blockades.

Will the continental system be modled? If so how? event, decision, modifier, or different system?

Will the supply lines be more like hoi3 or will the player be able to select the route of the supply lines?

For supply and logistics, we are still working on it...

As for trade, we will do something "simple": ports will bring income to owner and dominant naval power (i.e. Britain at start), but not to the latter if the port is occupied or allied to an enemy of same. Similarly, owners won't get income from blockaded ports. Hence the whole aspect of naval blockade versus continental blockade/occupation will be solved...

An abstracted trade system works for me.

About supply and logistics, I find HoI3's system an excellent starting point. It would be great the possibility of have more control on depots (capital of the country in HoI3 as well as ports).

I don't know if HoI3 theaters are able to act this way (and if you're planning to use them), but it would be very effective that you could have a 'capital' for every theater. I mean, all suply produced in a certain region would be 'centralized' in one point (region or theater capital) and then transported to the units just the way HoI3 is doing (which allows the apparition of bottlenecks, cut of supply lines, losses with distance and level of infrastructure, weather or even because of unrest of local population disrupting the lines). Maybe having a limited number of 'theaters' available that you could only increase by higher national moral/prestige, or research, experience, doctrines...

I'd like to see a challenging (as well as enjoyable) logistics system here. After all it was a crucial issue for campaigns in Russia and Spain in RL.

Having a smaller map than HoI3 maybe could allow this in calculation requeriments.

Very cool information on the use of trade. :)

Completely intrigued on the use of supply and logistics, should be fun discovering how the idea is implemented. ;)

so i'm guessing no complex trade goods like silk or spices from india

If the Persian region is part of the game I think they would have something like this, if not a trade good then a modifier showing it.
