Why did it take so long for someone to do this, I wonder?
Surely this possibility was mentioned before..

Because you can still get leader-lynched, brutalized, etc. Plus, it lacks finesse. Oh, and good luck if the doctor/GA is awol/absent-minded.
You seem to be forgetting that baddies may also scan you to get into that JL. And you never waste a brutal on a freaking JL mouthpiece lover.
I do agree that lover is a broken role and should be removed/rethought, though.
Why so worried Reis? Afraid that you and your pack mates wont be able to withstand the Super JL?
Yes I can be scanned by the dark side. Do you really think I'm the kind of player to not think about it ? I have a plan. A grand plan.
Nope, as I am a (traitless, AFAIK) villager.
I just want an easier game for me and my wolfpack than an ironman JL game would allow, of which we had a few, lately, which suck, since Ive been a wolf lately.
:glare:
Whether or not there are actually any lovers in this game, the troll does have a point. Serves me right for not double checking the rules I used last time.
To any and all lovers, here is the revised rule:
Lover: Each night, the Lover may choose to stay with a player (the target). The Lover and the target are unable to perform any other action during the night. Scans against the Lover's target will scan both without revealing the identity of either. Protection aimed at the target affects the Lover as well, but the Lover can only be directly protected or scanned if staying at home. Attacks against the Lover will fail if the Lover is out. Attacks against the target kills the Lover as well (barring protection). The target will only learn of the visit if he was stopped from performing a nightly activity. The target will not learn the Lovers identity (since the Lover sneaks about in the dark). Should one Lover target a second Lover who has chosen to use their trait (perhaps even on the first Lover), their orders will be resolved simultaneously. The first Lover will spend the night alone in the second absent Lover's house, and will be subject to any orders targeted on the second Lover. The first Lover will not be made aware that the second Lover was absent; perhaps it was the wrong address?
Any other issues that people would like to make me aware of?
Let's say you priest scan AOK the innocent villager. However, jonti the kinky cultist is sleeping with him. Your scan result would read that in scanning AOK you somehow got two results, one a villager, one a cultist. However, you would not learn whether AOK was the cultist or the villager, and you would not know it was jonti sleeping with him.
If instead you'd scanned jonti while he was out being kinky, your result would say that he was mysteriously absent ie no result.
All clear?
@walrus: I'll probably get rid of the rule. I'm not in the mood to fight over it.
But if you KNOW who the lover is, e.g., you've received double scan results from scanning his targets two nights in a row, you can make an ironman JL.

Ok, let's see how we can break that.
Our lover goes on the thread and says that he will sleep with X, asking for doc/GA protection on X, and scans on X. X will be kept safe from hunts, and scanners will have tagged him and the lover.
What about multiple lovers targeting the same person? (cue jonti)
