Anyone know if the beta savegames will work with the final version? I got a great game going and don't think I can finish it by the 3rd (day IGN beta is over). I suppose only Paradox beta testers or the devs would know. :)

No its an older version from March. As far as I can tell there have been no updates for it. If I can't it's no biggie, who knows maybe I can win it tonight. :)

Anyaway, even if game is exciting it will not last.
In Beta you cannot set winning condition, and then it is enough that one of your opponents researches 'unity' spell game is over anyway ...
I had one game on huge map, with many opponents and i just succeeded to destroy two of them and make first entrace to the first other world when it ended leaving me swearing and cursing and wanting more :)

So much for winning. Literally on the next turn King Rrat takes the victory. I so wanted to continue this game and conquer the worlds. There are 4 that need conquered after all. We need options for victory conditions.

Such as a conquest only victory. I don't know how King Rrat won. I am guessing he cast the unity spell. Below are the known victory conditions. I suppose he could have defeated a god avatar. I just don't know. I like the defeat all mages and capture all holy grounds. The other two not so much.

There are several ways to gain victory:

Defeat all the other Great mages.
Seize all the Holy Grounds – your mage will become the only priest of the Conclave.
Cast the great “Unity” spell – the highest spell in the game, and very difficult to research. By doing this, your mage commands all of the magical powers in the world of Ardania.
Defeat a god’s avatar. An avatar will appear in the world to attack any Great Mage who reaches a “hated” reputation status with any god.

IMO this is a huge design oversight, which will turn a large portion of your potential customer base away. There is a reason these games usually have the ability to select victory conditions - it is because most people don't want their game cut short when they are just getting started by some cheesy victory condition. I really enjoy the game, but sadly will probably not buy it if there is not option for victory conditions. Unfortunately this is a game breaker for me.

I won't go that far, this is a must buy for me. :) I will just have to start wars right off the bat. Hopefully the dev consider adding options for victory conditions.
