Guess I'll try and get a refund from Steam. I should have read the reqs more closely huh ;)
I just assumed you would want to support as wide a range of systems as possible ;p

The demo worked fine, so I ordered it on Amazon. Hopefully, the OP is wrong, or will get it to run on his particular system. Games that don't support XP are few and far between, but yes, that time is coming....

If the demo worked, the game will. But we can not guarantee that it supports all versions of XP or all configs running XP. But if the demo works, the game will.

It should work, someone in here posted that it does.

That was me. And yes, it has worked through the last two betas and into this release. Runs very quickly on WinXP setup via Steam, graphics turned all the way up.

Not sure about other configurations, but I'm currently running on XP Professional SP3 with no problems.

Where exactly did you get that number from?

Odd. I've seen several polls that suggest the userbase for Windows is split pretty evenly between Win7 and WinXP. That doesn't contradict what you report, but it does present a curious skew.

I don't think so. There is really no reason to stick with Xp.
Nowadays everyone should have a 64bit Processor. Last 32bit Processors made was like 10 years ago. 8% Single Core on Steam HWSurvey, that could be still 32bit.
So why use a 32bit OS?
Also, most people have more or equal to 4GB RAM.
You can't use full 4GB on XP 32bit.

Gamers always complain that Consoles hold PC Gaming back, but don't think about their 10 years old OS.

A lot of businesses still use XP for compatibility with expensive custom software so use of XP in general will still be pretty high. However, most gamers (which Steam will be showing) are likely to be running Vista or newer for DX10 support.

Any other XP users having issues after latest patch? Game loads and starts running, but after around 10 turns it randomly CTD. Works fine on my Win7 machine at home. Just like to pass the time away during long processes at work. Which is a laptop with XP build. As for the conversation of why have XP, our work is slow to upgrade due to machines with PCI cards that have no drivers available on higher OSs. The effort to develop new software and associated electronics is lenghty and costly. Management has been refusing to do so without a good reason.

1. I am on XP SP3. And I have one problem - loading times. It's starts from "immediately", but grows to "very long" with each every run of game. Until reboot.

2. Yes, I have CTD now. It's always when I click unit, and yes, it's about every 10 turns. Or 20 minutes, I am not sure. :/

3. Well, speaking about Win7, OSes are costly. I paid 300$ for my last hardware upgrade, and it was about 3 years ago. Maybe more. Paying 250$ for Win 7 Pro? It's... possible. But I doubt that I will do that until XP become totally obsolete.
