Both don't.

Started a de Normandie game, ran :

character_event = {
id = 190255
desc = "TEST"
picture = "GFX_evt_whispers"

is_triggered_only = yes

option = {
name = "OK"
create_character = {
}
}
}

Joscelin de Normandie was created. Same with dynasty = 0.

Hmm a character created through a character. I don't know then. Try to make it not a character_event but a province event, as it is triggered only it should not be a problem.

Do you have the character set as the son/daughter of a de Normandie? I think lowborn characters are all unlinked to other characters.

Can anyone explain triggered_modifiers.txt to me? I have worked up some nice ones for characters, but is it possible for provinces? Also, what have you done with this powerful little file?

I have a modifier triggered by being the defender in a religious war, giving some more levies. Works pretty well to help out the pagans, and make religious warfare in general a bit more drawn out.
The problem with triggered modifiers is that they don't actually display anywhere in-game (except a small popup when you first get them), so that limits their scope a lot.

They should appear as icons on the affected character's page. I have had a lot of bugs with using them: if the trigger is invalid, every character in the game gets the modifier.

I modified common/landed_titles to reorganize Italy/HRE. I also changed the localisation of d_modena to "Piedmont", d_ancona to "Roma", d_lombardia to "Milan" along with adjectives, etc.. I reorganized de jure counties between Duchies and Kingdoms within the HRE accordingly.

Everything is completely WAD as far as de jure liege relationships go. However, 2 interesting things happened.

1. My new Duchies of Piedmont and Roma (still using the "d_modena/d_ancona" code, I changed only the localisation and what counties are de jure) seemingly magically have new "correct" flags/CoAs: Piedmont has the Savoyard white cross on a red field but with the little blue line across the top; Roma has a red field with a yellow cross in the upper left corner and the letters SPQR runningly diagonally to the bottom right. The new Duchy of Milan is different, see 2.

2. Many other counties and duchies in Italy and the HRE itself have gotten their flags/CoAs all rearranged: the Duchy of Milan now has Brescia's CoA, and Brescia has the Milan/Lombardia snake, but in black and white. Other counties and duchies have swapped CoAs (county of Modena has duchy of Toscana's CoA, etc), and the HRE appears to have the von Habsburg dynasty's lion. All other realms outside the HRE appear to be normal, and duchies and kingdoms within the HRE that I did not touch do not appear to be affected either.

How does this happen; are CK2's CoAs not linked to the code (i.e. "d_modena" etc) like in EU3? How do they work? (I have not touched /gfx folder)

Thanks in advance to any who can help
Actually, I've tried everything I can think of (deleted gfx folder, deleted parent gfx folder, deleted entire My Documents/.../CK2 folder, restarted) and still I get this:

flags.jpg

...with lots of other counties and duchies messed up

Plus, it doesn't explain how "d_modena" and "d_ancona" localised as Piedmont and Roma somehow get flags that actually fit with Piedmont and Rome that I didn't even know existed in the game

no, they are still named d_modena and d_ancona in the code. I merely changed the localisation to Piedmont and Roma. I have not touched the /gfx folder Thus, the flags should still be Modena's and Ancona's flags.

I have not touched the /gfx folder. I did not add any titles that did not already exist (merely renamed the localisation)

Bump. anyone know anything else about /gfx or flags that could explain this?

I was unsuccessful in setting this up. It seems it just doesn't know which court to attach the new character to.

No, the resulting character has no father, mother, or sibling.

I would like to change king of Germany to King Romans, set up as title all readly active in the game. So how do will go about it?

PS to give a character a normal uncreated title do I just place said character with title in the history file?

There must be a missing flag or a misspelled one in gfx/flags, sound very much like it. If you want give me the files and I'll look at it.

Camara, how do you fix the "everything black" on custom maps :confused:

Generally it's topology which is messed up. Do you have the correct levels of underwater/not underwater and is it in greyscale?

It's just all 97 97 97 right now since my height map was so completely messed up (it made the middle east into a bunch of archipelagoes, the normal land was sunk, and the mountains were like giant citadels).

The thing is, that file is really annoying. Sometimes you have to save it as greyscale as your last action in photoshop (it is for me). That generally darkens all the areas, that's maybe why you had archipelagos, those were the mountain ranges. To make the files in the way I want I have to make the coasts have 128 128 128 or similar, and then save as greyscale. That will make them around 100. When you have messed up the color tables (not saving as greyscale for me) weirds things happen, as blackness and/or mountains become depressions.

So want give title king of Germany to it historical holdesr, which goes back Charlemagne, to the game very end, so I gone history file, places dates and character ID history file for title and I am still not getting people place in file listen as ever holding the title, or people that are alive not hold the title when they should.
