I saw a comment on Leprosy trait, that is from the original game. Got it on my leader and several of the successors in a row one time, pretty nasty run of luck.

I'm enjoying this mod more than i did the original game, i can actually start in the middle of the map and have fun doing it. Rather hectic, and challenging, but beats going with Nanbu and creeping my way out every game.

Forgot to add, my favorite feature is being able to immediately give some gold to a vassal who expects a higher title when you don't have one to give.

Just a question, but I notice there are no instructions on how to get a mod installed in this forum, do you just put contents in mod folder and the command line or something...?

EDIT: Ah nevermind... got now..

As for Hister's logs, I couldn't find any remarkable error. In my hand off test plays, the game could run smoothly.

Thanks. The general concept of demanding land by vassals in vanilla is good, but the problem is that it happens too often and repeatedly. All we need is to control its chance and give some alternative options.

I am trying to strengthen the Kiso clan in 1180 scenario. Do you have any idea?

Do the Kiso truly need strengthening in 1180? Just tried a quick game with them, raised my levies (which were bigger than the one they start at war with) and asides from the smaller armies i had to chase around it was a rather easy war. Historically should they be bigger or have more developed cities? Balance wise they seemed slightly better than their enemy there.

Kiso Yoshinaka won against the Taira clan and took control Kyoto in 1183.
In game, I won't expect such a success, but due to the bad connection of his provinces in Shinano and Kozuke, his army is weak against the Jo clan. (AI can't handel it.)

Weird that the AI has trouble there, it must look at mountains and the island landing paths different or something. Its been rather good at moving armies to flank when i start on the southern end and block one beach with a large army, it sends small and large bands the other way. When i ran as Kiso the enemy clan kept sending small bands around my mountains, and when i tried that other clan the AI quickly unified Kiso armies and proceeded to kick my butt.

Perhaps further upgrading their starting castles, or throwing in free upgrades at a specific game time or after they annihilate or make peace with that hostile clan (not sure if that's even possible with the game engine) would help them overcome the larger Taira clan.

Historically Yoshinaka's forces were weak when it came to defending their fortresses (although they only lost Hiuchi due to treachery), or just playing defense in general, so making their castles tougher probably isn't a good idea. They were at their best when on the attack (as long as it didn't involve naval warfare, such as at Mizushima). I'd suggest weakening the Jo clan's defenses any way you can and perhaps bumping up any 'offensive' benefits Yoshinaka's forces might get from his castles. This would encourage them to attack the Jo and not wait to be invaded, taking the fight to the Jo like they did in real life. One thing to remember is that while the Jo were said to have a huge army, the war tales routinely exaggerated troop numbers, often by a factor of about 10. Even though they'd still have the numbers advantage against Yoshinaka, their poor training and discipline made them easy targets, so you could justify making them a lot weaker.

Thanks for the suggestion!
Upgrading castles means the increase of levy size too. Since we can't divide the unit of a province, the large army could work negatively, especially for small clans. I try to add a few manufactures in Shinano and give Kiso Yoshinaka a modifier with shock/morale bonus.

After several test play I noticed that landed characters can have ambitions too. It means that players can have original kokujin ambitions beside already existing courtier ambitions. I am not sure whether I could make unique ambitions such as "become direct vassal of liege", but I will try it.

How can I use the anime portraits?

Hi, I mentioned it in Quick Questions Quick Answers thread - is there any way to make clan leaders approve your petitions for titles a little more feasible? I have petitioned for titles dozens and dozens of times with various clan leaders and at various levels of opinion and even lords who love me and list me as top vassal will always deny me a title (daimyo, kokujin - doesn't matter).

This makes the whole event rather pointless - all it is is a way for the game to artificially drop your liege-vassal relationship.

This can, obviously be hardcoded and chances are that nothing can be done, but just imagine how much more attractive starting out as vassal would become if you could work towards your daimyo title.

Look at the extra folder and overwrite the mod files with those anime data in the extra folder.

I didn't touched the gameplay in the vassal level, but I will check the conditions of that event. Thanks for the report!

Thanks! Another point is that my fellow vassals do get daimyo titles, which suggests there is a baseline for when titles get awarded.

I will keep checking if time allows, will certainly let you know if one of my requests is successful.
