Crashes

Shortly after launching nuclear weapons, the game crashes for me. Every time.
Additionally, at random intervals, it will crash regardless. And corrupt the save files.
Before anyone asks, yes, I have it updated to the most recent patch.

Do you have a savegame that you can load that after X days or doing action Y will crash? If so, we would like a copy of the savegame.

We have two known possible crashes at this time but neither of them is consistently reproducible. One is related to saves becoming corrupt. This can be worked around by enabling the Autosave feature. Autosaves alternate between two file names making it nearly impossible for both to come up corrupt since it does not happen every time. If you get two game days of progress you'll have two autosaves meaning you'll never loose more than a day's progress. The second seems to be related to some alert message but it remains completely elusive, we cannot seem to locate any damaged alerts. Many players are not encountering either of these problems making it even harder to troubleshoot.

If you have a savegame that could help us isolate and resolve either of these issues, we would be happy to address these issues. The nuclear weapons however seems unlikely to be linked to either of these as we've had no one else report errors/crashes using nukes.

Omg there is an autosave option? I just lost 6 hours of gameplay due to a random crash which makes me feel like never opening that game again

Yes, there is an autosave. IIRC it defaults to every 7 game days. Open the game and select load, see what you find. Or look in the savegame directory to see what's there, sort by date.

no autosaves there. i just checked, its default setting is not to autosave, switched it to 30 days now
