Chapter IV: Conquering Majahapit (Forming a Nation Part II)

There was now no other option left but to attack. All regions in our range had been colonized. The men were ready to prove their worth to the known world that they could fight the war just as others could. But we weren't ready for a full scale war. After colonizing Priangan, we were now left with 4 unprotected cities that were directly on the front lines. They would be an easy pick for the attacking nation if we were to go into battle. Even though we all wished for the war, we had to put it on hold to build up the economy a little more.

In 1582, Bone became a core province. A few years later, Irian cored as well(Irian LITERALLY only added .08 to the yearly gain). Money was beginning to flow in quickly. The people even wanted to speed up the process.

At the rate that our money was increasing, we would be ready for war by the early 1600's (15 years from then). I cared not, for either way, i knew that we would be victorious. Words of our armies readiness and willingness for war had reached the ears of our "Rivals". Their fear had begun to show.

But sadly, Ei would not be able to lead this war. It would be up to his son, Eki, to lead the nation to war.

2012-08-18_00003.jpg

By 1603, we had built a fort in all our provinces and a couple of armories and constibles along the way. we felt that we were now ready. All we needed was a plan to formulate our victory. Our battle strategy would be harsh on the army, but it would lead to victory in the end.
Phase I: Declare war and take the Defensive. Since their army was larger, they would take the initiative and attack. If the battles took place in our land, then our troops would get replenishment, and theirs would get attrition.
Phase II: When they attack, lose the first battle and retreat deeper into the nation. It will allow us to replenish, and they will give chase in order to defeat us quickly.
Phase III: Let the Attrition take its toll on the opposing forces and wait for the opportunity to finish them off.
Final Phase: If the Above phases work, then split the army into 4 groups and immediately cover all regions to forfeit there chance of making another army.
If the above Phases fail then let god be with us. Eki would take command over the initial attack then give the order for the split of forces to move out. Majahapit had no allies, so it would only be us versus them. Our troops took there place, and the war would begin.

As i suspected the moral would be the problem. since it was there first war, they didnt have any experience with battle. But this worked to our advantage so perfectly. The troops fell for our tactics and marched directly to us through Demak to finish us off quickly. Attrition took its toll the second he walk over that border. The first Battle was their victory.

2012-08-18_00006.jpg

As was the Second.

2012-08-18_00007.jpg

But the Third Battle was our COMPLETE VICTORY!!!

2012-08-18_00008.jpg

We took the long way to Surabaya to take time to replenish the lost forces. The second we made it to Surabaya, we split into 4 armies. With that we took the fight to all four of the Majahapit provinces, and quelled all chances of them creating another army.

It was a matter of time before their land belonged to me.

2012-08-18_00010.jpg

The first to fall was Mataram.

2012-08-18_00011.jpg

Next was Bali Lombok.

2012-08-18_00012.jpg

Then it was the capital. And then the war was over, AND WE REIGNED VICTORIOUS!!!

2012-08-18_00013.jpg

Victory was ours. We had won our very first war. The entire nation celebrated!!! We moved the NF to Blambangan to help with revolts and money. Now to look at the spoils of our war.(Before reading on let me remind you that our most populated city, our capital, has 44,000 people in it. Our highest base tax was in Banten, and it was a 6)

Surabaya: Population-77,555, Production- Cotton, Base tax- 4
Mataram: Population-38,698, Production- Spices, Base tax- 9!!!!!
Blambangan: Population-3371, Production- Cotton, Base tax- 5
Bali-Lombok: Population- 65,993, Production- Coffee, Base tax- 7

This was a very good choice in conquest. Altogether, it also added 6 to my Land Forcelimit and 2 to my Naval. A few months later, we were granted with an advance in government giving us a new National Idea. With it i could take one of 3 options.

Untitled.jpg

Plan A For Attack: Begin the war of Indonesia for complete control of the land. We could use the new National Idea to Strengthen our army by either adding More troops, increasing Manpower or just focusing on moral. (all land circle in white are allied with each other.)
Plan C For Colonize: Colonize for more land. With Quest for the New World, i could send expeditions into uncharted land and colonize it just like i did all the rest.(All thats circled in black can be colonized)
Plan E For Economy: Use The national idea Bureaucracy. Therefore increasing our treasury and focusing on rebuilding from the inside. thus strengthening paln A and B for the future.

In 1612, Emperor Eki passed away. Thus leaving the Decision to his Heir, Sho Kimpuku.......

END OF CHAPTER IV

Subscribed and I vote plan A
Killem all.
My wife is from Ryukyu/Okinawa

What? How you get colonists as ruyku?Has it got to do with a national idea?(colonial ventures?)
Also,keep going!

First up, congratulations - this is a fantastic read so far! And so very different from any other Ryukyu AAR's.
I was about to say that you have to attack since you're running out of time, then I realised this isn't a specific WC attempt. I don't think Bureaucracy is a good National Idea, if you want to focus on your economy I'd take NTP and start trading (what are your sliders like for trade? Couldn't see in any of your pictures). At this stage your main threat is the colonial powers, Castille especially looks very strong. If you want to not get steamrolled by them you need to expand quickly into Indochina. Besides, I think your economy is reasonably strong atm, and once the Makassar provinces core it'll get stronger. So I vote Plan A.

Chapter V: The Empire Is Almost Complete (Forming a Nation Part III)

Sho Kimpuku decided that he would go with Plan A. He would stop and wait for the correct opportunity to attack, but in the meantime he would build up economy. But he would have to entrust this task to his son, Gen.

Late in the year 1630, Austria declared war on me. At the same time Denmark declared war on Brunei and his allies. Ming, Khmer, and Korea also declared war on Brunei. This was the perfect opportunity for me to take Makassar. The only one of Makassars protectors to join there war was Pattani. Makassars 4 units did not amount for much resistance and were easily defeated. Pattani was too busy with their own war with Ming to fight against me. It made for an easy victory, but the victory cost us the life of our Emperor who was in charge of the army. His son Shitsu would then finish off the war.
The war with Austria ended before it even began.

2012-08-19_00027.jpg

And a few months after that, We had won the siege of Makassar.

2012-08-19_00028.jpg

After Three years of a siege, we finally annexed Makassar. After the war with Makassar, i noticed that there was an uncolonized island north of Menade called Sulu. Free land for the taking.

2012-08-19_00029.jpg

The war that Brunei was in with Khmer lasted another couple of years. And right after their war was over, some Europeans declared war on Aceh. Brunei jumped out to help. I took this as my chance to attack Brunei. I built up my forces and moved to attack Brunei.
The war with Brunei didnt have a single battle. Their Main army was on the island of Aceh fighting the Portuguese. While they only left 3 units on their main island. They ran from the fight to try and take back the land i took from them. I took over the entire island, but it was too much for me to annex them. So I took what i could.

2012-08-20_00001.jpg

And for some reason i was at war with the Mamluks, I sued for piece with them by offering to concede defeat.

2012-08-20_00002.jpg

In 1655, it was a GLORIOUS day for money.

2012-08-20_00003.jpg

We had gained 4 core provinces!!!
While recuperation for our next battle, Malacca took this chance to annex Brunei. That made them my next focus of attack. They were allied with Pattani and Aceh.
But before i could declare war on them, something else amazing happened. Pegu had revolted from its leader Tuangu. They had no allies and were the northern border nation to Pattani.

2012-08-22_00001.jpg

I quickly moved in to take them down. There was only one battle. My army of 10,000 brave soldiers made quick work of there 3000 horses. After that it was a short amount of time before they were fully annexed. About 6 months to be precise.

2012-08-22_00002.jpg

We had finally gained or first foothold on the mainland. This would be the start of something AMAZING. Right after that war Sicily declared war on me, but that war was shorter than the one with Austria. Lucky for me, them declaring war on me put them at war with France and Burgundy.

2012-08-22_00003.jpg

In 1670, I declared war on Malacca. There allies Pattani and Aceh joined as well. Pattani was an easy victory. They only had 4 units, and the routed in the first battle. The army I sent to Aceh was the first to find success though.

2012-08-22_00005.jpg

Pattani's capital was the next to fall. Then I took Brunei from Malacca. I immediately asked for them to Surrender it to me. Their Response??

2012-08-22_00006.jpg

Immediately following their surrender i won the siege of Minangkabau(Aceh). My only objective left was the full annexation of Pattani, then i would have had total victory.
During the new war we received a new Emperor.

2012-08-22_00007.jpg

His first Decree???

2012-08-22_00008.jpg

And right after that?

2012-08-22_00009.jpg

We now had full control over the island of Brunei, a BIGGER foothold on the mainland and some land on the island of Aceh. Just like that, we controlled the future of Indochina and Oceania itself.....
