How different will March of the Eagles actually be from the brief gameplay videos we saw when AGEOD were in charge?

sorry loki- but I think OP was about the first videos here on Paradox about the new game, not the original AGEOD Nap Campaigns. The first videos were based on 'the Claw' enginge - hahhah - and not the AGE engine.

Don't know any details past that, but I am interested if/how they will model combat as battles in that time frame usually ended at night and rarely carried on past 1 or 2 days. Regiments marched into the teeth of musket and cannon and were exhausted in the matter of hours.

In any case, the commitment is toward a RTS game format and I anticipate an interesting interpretation. Look at how they modeled factional fractures in ROME - (another EU'ish game).

The only thing I noticed is that regions outside of Europe like India have been unfortunately removed.

Also I assume it would be more sandboxy now that PDS is in charge.

Its not more sandboxy, but more goal-oriented, and the map have been made more accurate..

I take it all countries are still playable, and are you able to form countries, like france forming the cisalpine republic as a sort of puppet state?

Not answering the second part of the question is a pretty sad news. No Cisalpine Republic, Etruria, Westphalia, Duchy of Warsaw etc...

They need to keep some secrets ;)

Like the entire content of the whole game except a few facts. It does indeed seem sensible to withold one more just for the sake of secrecy.

Id like to see a mod containing the coastine on the america.
