I saw these games are in sale in gamersgate and I thought I might buy either of these but witch one is better?

Personallyh I thought 2020 wasnt bad, but for £4 i'm going to give cold war a try and see if it is as bad as people say.

Cold War + Modern World mod by Fistalis. Although You will have to wait a few months for that. (it's not yet adapted to the new versions of Cold War).

But I still should get cold war rather than 2020?

This week, the whole series is 75% off as Gamersgate's "mid-week" sale (it's a different series each week.) So, you can get 2020 AND Cold War for a little under $5.

That having been said, especially with the beta update 3, Cold War is rediculously better than 2020, though I do miss the near-future scenario from 2020. Fistalis' Modern Day modwill be a worthy substitute once updated though, I'm sure.

Are these games harder than HoI3 and Victoria?

Depends on how instensely you wish to micromanage. If you're content to let you minister do most of the work (with some input from you) then it's pretty easy. If you're the kind of person who has to pause every morning and tweak the sale price of consumer goods to the last place, well, its easy to get lost in the details :)

I find that if I settle for 95% efficiency instead of 110%, I can play the game at max speed and have fun.

So if I don't like to micromanage I can automate some stuff and enjoy it more? Hmm...well since the price is kind of low I might buy them both and give a try.
Not sure yet thought.

My method for BattleGoat games is to wait a year for the game to be in an actual suitable state (they usually take a few patches to be enjoyable), plus be on sale. Then I find it to be worth the investment.
It's about that time, so I just picked up a copy.

Based on my random playing of SR:CW, I can say without a shadow of a doubt, it is far superior to SR2020, in nearly every way, AI, Game speed, Era(My preference!), UI, Economic funs. Colonies! Id suggest getting CW. Also they are working on a patch right now, so it will be even better soon!
Hopefully.

I agree with the era. But can't say much about the game itself. my laptop just isn't powerful enough to play this game :(

This seems to be the only game series of battlegoat studios. And it is the best. I really think that Paradox studios makes games which are sophisticated, but battlegoat games are not paradox studio games, exactly. I think since paradox develops games also and since they publish battlegoat games, they must be giving and voicing opinion.
