There is an ugly overproducing bug for the AI, which means it's putting units in the (front of the) production queue like a greedy stupid child.
I have already reported this in the forums many years ago for armageddon or doomsday or whatever version.
That time it harmed mainly the soviets, now the difference it occured mainly for UK and Japan.
Now it is 2012, I tried Aod 1.7 + IC 1.2. Hoi2 got twenty or who knows how much patches since than, and this obvious bug is still there!
I was wondered why the UK and Japan do nearly nothing in my game, so I loaded my Germany save game (1941 june, 1936 scenario) as England and as Japan.
I checked their production:
Their queue is full of half-ready and 90% ready units, thats why they have nothing. That's why Japan was kicked off by the chinese SOO easily.
That's why the english guarded ALL north africa with no more than ONE division.
The "smart" AI produces a division by half and then it switches to another and start producing a new one. Outstanding!!
And I am tried to play games against complete fool AI opponents, so I quitted the game.
