That would seem like the correct version - as thats what I have.

Activating the DLC is dont through the scenario setup screen below:

Is this what you're getting/seeing?

Ah, no, I'm not getting that.

The "Game Mode - Armageddon" and the "Defeat the Dremer" victory mode do not appear on my screen at all.

Hmm, but yeah, I'm thinking that my mysterious "DLC 5" listing might be Armageddon, but the fact that it's listed that way (that is, insufficiently) may be an indicator that it's not installed correctly. :(

No its the same for me. DLC 5. Obviously the Dremer are a little coy at disclosing their presence... until it too late and they strike! ;)

Maybe I need to kill 100 Avatars before I can unlock it???

I've yet to kill one, actually. :(

I dont believe you need to unlock anything once you've purchased the DLC. Try running a verify game cache integrity check from STEAM. Its the same way you checked for the DLC, but you need to access the middle tab (I think) and run the check.

Well, the unlocking thing was a poor attempt at a joke. (I'm playing my first game with "Kill an Avatar" as the victory condition. I've killed all but on AI, dominating the map, fully in favor with one god - while another hates me - but no avatar as of yet.)

Anyway, I did the cache check thing, and it actually said there was a file that didn't... something, and that it would re-install it.

But alas, no luck yet.

I'm hoping maybe the new patch will fix this. The info on Steam about the game updates has version 1.41 included, but the game itself still says 1.4.0.54. I hope that will come in order soon, too. :)

Hi - ack... sorry, I thought you might be joking, but electronic media can be a big ambiguous in its portrayal of humor! ;)

As for the missing file, its a know issue - and shouldnt stop you playing the game.

Im going to assume that you havent got any modified or hacked files but if you have, then this could be the cause of your issue...

If you cant get the correct option to run the Dremer DLC then I suggest that you should contact steam and create a support ticket. If you've purchased the DLC then you should be seeing the correct options to run the game.

Yes, my joke wasn't very clearly made, nor good, so it's ok. ;)
The joke was supposed to highlight the looooooong ass time it took for me to even get an Avatar to appear. I had to read the Wiki to find out that it could be dozens of turns once you'd gained 100 approval from a God. And it did. I just had to keep playing for around 10-20 turns more. :)
Incidentally, the Wiki also said (at least in the victory conditions article) that the Avatar would have 10,000 hit points. Yes, TEN THOUSAND. Luckily, this wasn't the case in the game, and I only needed about 10-15 turns or so before it was dead.

Anyway, I'm certainly not gonna stop playing the game just because of this issue, but at this stage I could actually use some new content and new challenges.

The game could reaaaally use a couple more difficulty levels, and/or AI improvements to make it harder. I'm not that good at the game, but I'm not even breaking a sweat on Impossible difficulty.

And no, the game isn't hacked. :)

Once the new patch (hopefully) kicks in, I'll see if that doesn't fix things. If not, then I'll contact Steam - or I'll try a re-install. :)

Btw, thanks for all the help so far. And a belated Merry Christmas to you also!
