Night 5
Whales prove rather difficult to tunnel out from, so our crew decided to set fire to inner forest. This idea was borne from a notion that they could burn their way and a vague spirit of pyromania that had been hovering among them for some time. What they did not realize was that it might leave them trapped inside the cetacean inferno. Quick thinking led our heroes to devise a plan that would have made more sense all along: they would wedge open the whale’s mouth when he was yawning with wood from the nearby forest. Nautilu was chosen to complete the task. Sad to say, he decided to use beams from the boat to save time. For this indiscretion, the adventurers left him tied inside the whale as punishment.
As if to demonstrate the dual nature of misfortune, the next trial would be one not of fire, but of ice. The North Wind grew very cold and caused the sea to freeze. Not only was the surface of the water now ice, but the ocean was now frozen to a depth of 300 fathoms. Ice was more conducive to tunneling than whale flesh, thus it was that the party dug a cave in the sea to serve as shelter for the night. These accommodations weren’t really so bad, as fish could be obtained merely by scratching them out of the walls of the cave. Despite what one would think, lycanthropes are not inclined to use their claws to cut through ice. This did not prevent them, as was discovered the next morning, from having cold cuts of their own.
Nautilu the villager was lynched
Marty99 the seer was hunted
