Anyone want the role/order table?

The WTF part of this game:

Cymsdale's hunt orders were all based on their standing order list; jpr123 was never targeted.

Document. Copied it from my personal box as is.

Wolves had this in the bag had they bothered hunting jpr earlier.

Detector trait hit two baddies from Rendap; was a big advantage. telesien would have leaderlynched the doc had he gotten one more vote on Day 7 based on the way the order was given. From an in-game PoV, Cliges hunt made little sense IMO, but was worth it.

That's all I have to say, I'll let the orders tell the story from where they were from.

Rendap, jpr - it was a pleasure. Good game, appropriate ending I believe for a JL that never should've gotten this far in the first place.

Thanks Ciry for hosting. Although a lot of Zombie'ism took place, it was a pleasure!

Can only agree with you Najs, that it indeed was a pleasure working with you and jpr. That bloody Curse Hit smashed our win, but too bad - On to the next game!

I have to admit that I like the Detector trait and can see the advantage over the more traditional seer/priestly/sorc powers. I like that you don't get the role, but only whether it is a villager or not. We had a discussion in PM's over the risk of hitting a GA, but decided that the risk was worth it.

Definitely something I would like to see Again.

Thanks for GM'ing, Ciryandor!

so, marty, how was this set-up unbalanced? I toid you we do not need gimped roles. Marvelous balanced game
Not necessarily unbalanced, as the wolves did of course win. But I still don't think the game was as exciting as it could've been during all the days when jpr was doing everything. Ciryandor couldn't have anticipated this, as there was no GA and he presumably thought a doctor wouldn't be enough to keep an outed seer alive for so long- I probably would have in the same position. An outed seer living, what? A week without GA protection, with only one doctor to protect him is unheard of, yet it happened here.

I would say both scanners being blessed and a doctor, in hindsight is probably too much protection for a JL in a small 25-player game, IMHO. Not in terms of game balance, but in terms of any one player being really difficult to kill.
It's hard to know how much of it was due to sheer random luck, how much to wolves' incompetence, how much to jpr's admittedly brilliant seership, and how much remaining was down to the set-up. Sorry for judging so quickly Ciryandor, I just don't like seeing Ironman JLs.

Although in most games with the same setup jpr wouldn't have got away for so long, as looking at your table, Cy, the wolves only hunted jpr three times. And then there is the missed brutal opportunity they had. Ironically, my pretending to be the GA might actually have convinced the wolves there was one

Note of caution:
In a big JL - where all the big players have flocked to the mouthpiece, the protectors, the seer and the priest - the detector is incredibly powerful. In this game, you didn't know it at the time, with no idea there was no GA or apprentice, but every person the detector scanned to be a non-villager had to be a baddie (correct me if I'm wrong). In a game where the JL can get every apprentice and important goodie to them, the detector has the possibility of being a seer and priest rolled into one.

I like the idea, it worked well here and I'd like to see it again. But to any future GM's thinking of using it, be aware it can be a lot more powerful than it would seem, and think carefully about how you'd balance it.

The glorious JL also believed itself to be masters of cunning and deceit, so when the seer wanted to be protected the doctor overruled him (secretly), protected him a day early and then found himself in need to do something about what was surely going to be a hunt on jpr. So we ran telesien up and had jpr tell everyone that he couldn't be lynched, hoping telesien would be hunted instead. And he was, which made the update hilarious combined in light of Citizen brutalizing the wrong person, although now it seems as though telesien would have died anyway if Cymsdale was truly just rocking the standing order.

I thought that the goodies were practically being handed a win on this one. At no point did I think that the wolves were going to succeed, much less that I would become on of them. This marks the first time that I've been flipped and the first time I've won as a baddie.

There was a chance that I might have hosted the next game, but now I'm not as sure that my schedule would permit it. Maybe I'll do the one after the next one, or else in the near future.

Yeah I don't see what we did wrong. My scans targets weren't the best, but the JL managed to keep me alive for 7 nights without a GA, which I thought was pretty impressive. Not much we can do for last night cursed wolf.

And thanks for hosting Ciry.
