Hi, I own all but one DLCs, but after the patch the startup screen shows two blank fields for mods and DLCs. When I start the game, no DLCs are active.
This happened after installing patch 1.10. My checksum is SKDF.

Is there any workaround until this is fixed, like starting ck2.exe with a .bat-file and adding all DLCs one owns as switches?

This is the GamersGate version and it isn't just The Old Gods, it is EVERY SINGLE mod and DLC.

I'm completely new to CKII, not even played one game, so keep that in mind. I bought it just recently from GG and some DLC, and today went about installing it. On launching the game i get that panel that shows the mods and DLC sections (white blocks), and i installed the latest patch right after installing the main game so it reads '1.10 SKDF' in the patch info on the main game menu.

Anyway at first there was no info in those white block section of the first launch menu, no DLC's etc. So i had to log into the GG store from the in-game menu and chose to 'reinstall' all the green ticked DLC's i had bought from GG. Then after i launched CKII again they did all appear (with their ticks) in that DLC window.

However in my game i can not play as either muslim or pagan nor set the date earlier than 1066, even though i have the DLC for this (Sword of Islam, The Old Gods, plus the two Roman ones), and this is even having the DLC's and the ticked tick boxes in that first launch window.

So maybe you will get more lucky than me by 'reinstalling' your DLC's from the in-game store login, as after doing that they did at least show up?

No success.
Ah, too bad. it worked for a friend. I'm having the same problem as Infocalypse, restarting Steam and my PC did not work, plus this:

Thanks El_Cid, but that is not the problem. I had deleted the whole dlc folder content and reinstalled it but it did not work. I reinstalled the game thereafter plus the full dlc content once again. Same result.

No answer from official side?

Sorry guys!

For now I advice you to make a complete reinstall if you have the steam version. Also restart steam between uninstalling and reinstalling. Also make sure to manually remove any leftover files or folders on your computer when uninstalling. Make sure to backup any save files you may want to keep.

If you are on the GG version. Make sure you reinstall your DLC's using the in-game store. If that doesn't work. Do a complete reinstall as per instructions given above.

Let me know how it works out.

I have the same issue, and have tried reinstalling the game and steam.

After re-downloading the game a bunch of times I can now sellect the Old Gods starting date in game,
but the launcher still says that I dont have any DLC.

Now to go play :)

I already wrote that I did all this, and now I did it twice. It won't work. I cannot pick a single DLC. So now what shall I do?

Assuming you have a patched Ck2 version on 1.10 working and all DLCs (at least in the game folder) and not created an own user directory , i suggest this:
(Hint: Don't have the game or the launcher up and running while doing this)
Try deleting the "...Documents/Paradox Interactive/Crusader Kings II"-folder, but back up your saves first.
(Well you should play these saves anyway on the older patched version, assuming you havent played any on 1.10 yet.)

Start up the game, enter the in-game store, log in, download all necessary DLCs from gamersgate, stay logged in, exit with the upper right 'x'. Quit game. Restart ck2game.exe.
If the launcher still doesnt display the DLCs, well than i can only suggest a complete deinstallation and reinstall now.
When doing this, don't forget the above mentioned folder, as this will have been recreated while starting the game.

IF you need to reinstall, patch first, then download the DLCs.
Hope it helps (i have the GG version myself).

I have the same problem. The launcher shows no DLC's and only white areas where they are supposed to be shown. I have most of them. When launching the game from the game .exe, there are no DLC's in-game either.

I have the Steam version of the game. I just bought The Old Gods this morning. I have reinstalled the game and also verified the game files, so the install is clean.

In my own thread here (it's long and detailed but you can skip to the bottom where i had resolved the non working DLC issues with The Old Gods etc):

http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum...solution-to-installing-GG-version-of-CKII-DLC

The solution was to make sure i was running in my Administrator profile and ensure CKII plus all installation actions were run 'as administrator', this then allowed my DLC to work in game (i.e. i could start at 878 AD(iirc), chose a Pagan(The Old Gods dlc) or Muslim(Sword of Islam) leader etc. Trying to get the DLC working in a non administrator profile (which is what i use for the internet in general for security reasons) would stop it working in game, even if you had them all ticked in the launch menu screen.

For my GG version of the game i also had to have the patch (1.10 was the one i tried, but maybe the previous one would work also?) active for The Old Gods dlc to work in game, and i had to 'reinstall' all the DLC via the in-game store (which if you get the greyed out buttons you have to do the uninstall stuff/remove that store.dll file thing etc).

If you are finding non of this applicable then as has been mentioned it is best to do a complete uninstall and remove all the Paradox stuff from the main 'C:\Paradox Interactive\Crusader Kings II' path (including all the parent folders in that) and the extra folder it will create on your PC, which depends on what windows version you are running (XP it is in 'My Documents\Paradox Interactive\Crusader Kings II', Vista it is in '(logged in Profile)\Documents\Paradox Interactive\Crusader Kings II' etc).

Once you have got rid of all remnants of the Crusader Kings II installation, when you do the complete reinstall you should get all your buttons active and functional again to complete the process properly. With a bit of luck!

Thank you for posting this El_Cid_Campeado!

Let me know how this helps the rest of you guys out.

I'm at work now, but before I went, I tried running as administrator on both the launcher and the game exe and it didn't do it for me. The game is correctly installed with adminstrator privileges; I reinstalled it this morning. I have the version from Steam. My issue persists.

The game has been working fine until the latest patch.

I too also did this, and my issue still persists as well. Are there more installation actions besides the two .exe files that i need to give admin permission to?
