Would this somewhat be a continuation of your TTEP?

Wow! It's been a long time isn't it?

I guess it. Somehow. Let's call it CWTTE.

Downloadable? This looks fan-bloody-tastic by the way!

I've done some work on a people's war/low intensity conflict doctrine tree that will hopefully be added soon. It branches off from the Soviet tree after the people's army tech and goes from Mao's Protracted War theory to, eventually, the choice between a few different final doctrines related to Che's Foco strategy (best in terms of organization and combat in jungles and hills), Deng's people's War Under Modern Conditions (best for stuff like Tanks and Mecs), Urban insurgencies (huge urban combat bonuses), and a "Folk and Faith" Doctrine that has increased manpower growth and the best morale.

Mouth watering goodness! Hope it becomes a standard, will all the spacerace events and spacerace tech categories be added?

In the first version, i guess not, not them all at least.

I have updated the first post with updated naval and secret weapons tech tree, check'em!

It has a few less techs than the space race mod. Some techs seemed unnecessary (like the "race to the moon tech" between manned spaceflights and Lunar Landing). I felt it was better to jettison that tech and just increase the difficulty of the lunar landing tech's components. Also, I did away with some of the levels of recon satellites (giving their effects to other techs) and dropped the permanent lunar presence tech. There is still a mission to mars tech which is theoretically possible in 1980 (based on Korolev and Von Braun's plans for a Mars landing in the early 80s). However, each component is difficulty 200, so it'll take quite an effort to research. Achieving it will basically lead to a Civilization style "scientific victory" via event.

I'm working on revised space race events for this.

I think we need missile cruisers, something to represent to Kirov-class battlecruisers and also more carriers. Naval action is always fun.

I can't comment on your particular request, but Kretoxian has added several new type of naval units (just look at the new screenshots on the front page). So you can look forward to more ship types to play with. :)

Say Kret will you add back or continue the work you did with TTEP? or only focus on the cold war for now?

I don't honestly know. I think that TTEP was in certain way a piece of nonsense because i started adding techs almost without thinking due to my inexperience in DH moding.

Well looking at the pics in OP, you did keep some of your changes, so TTEP wasnt all that bad!
Like you only removed airships and some naval planes to the air techs, and infantry looks almost intact since TTEP.

We would like to gather some opinion about a controversial, yet revolutionary, idea we had.

It is about escort fighters. Right now, as you all know, they are limited to escort role in a brigade size.

That is, in my opinion, not historically true, because many countries had long range fighter wings working independently, not attached to any other wings. So, what i propose is to create a new airplane unit called something like "long range fighter" , which would basically be like the old escort fighter unit from hoi2) and they are activated by default when you research long range fighter and, just like it happens with armoured divisions, if you have researched excort box doctrine in the air doctrines tech tree, the escort fighter brigade would be activated.

Also, as the long range fighters/Heavy fighters were an almost exclusive ww2 invention, the last model would be the 1945 one.

What do you think?

I like this idea.

The only downside i see in that system is that it would require to modify the scenario .inc files from 1939 onwards, which means a huge amount of extra work researching for OOBs and so on...
