OLD OP
This is sort of a continuation of the Diplomacy on the East Vs West forum but anybody who wasn't part of it is welcome to join!

The Cold War

Ground Rules

1. The Starting year is 1948~This allows people to play country's that hadn't been released/formed in 1946, it also gives time for a proper set up of the UN and the roots of cold war tension are starting to take root.

2. Any Tension should be at first tried to be settled through the UN (if it isn't then the UN may have to act on its own accord). The UN will be an open forum for any player big or small to bring its problems to the rest of them(Having unrecognized country's might get a bit confusing so try to avoid playing them). There will be a security council of the United States of America, Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, The French Republic and the Republic of China.

3. Try to stay in character as a country. That is not to say you cant have a revolution but you cant just be like "Im now a soviet aligned Italy" you must try and explain a build up to a revolution or Coup. (Just try to use your common sense when it comes to this rule, a change from history is fine along as it is well explained and isn't too ridiculous e.g. The US and The USSR join forces. Things like a reinstated monarchy is fine as long as you have a good reason ect. Any confusion about this rule just ask and ill clarify)

4. Try and use historical and true figures as your Head of State, Foreign Minster and any other you think is appropriate. I would recommend you know a bit about the country you wanna play and if you don't and your blocking someone who does from playing then please let them.

5. If your country is invaded and occupied you may still be a government in exile but you will obviously have less political clout as you are now stateless

6. Joint projects can attempted ranging from things like the United Arab republic to nuclear sharing but again not into the realm of madness

7. Please be respectable and nice people are RP not to flame each other about there chosen country ect.

8. More rules will probably be needed to be added as we go on so i reserve the right to add more.

1948 map.jpg
(sorry for the small size but you can enlarge it or alternativley use this map http://www.historicmapworks.com/Map/WM/2341/Page+009+++The+World+++Mercator+Projection///)

Please select a country from that map and a color to write in so its easier to tell who it is (you can be a colonial administration but remember who your master is you can just jump out on your own) and state who you are and who your playing and i will add you to the list. Any questions don't hesitate to ask me :)

The Federal Republic of Germany will come to life in 1949. I`d like to play it then.

Bundeskanzler Konrad Adenauer

Or you could just wait until 1949 then join ?

I guess that`s better. So I have time to forge a plan for world dom...ehm...a harmonic and peaceful european coexistance. ;)
