Chapter XII: Take the Fight To Austria

Our plans lay out before us. We wanted Baden cut down and rung under our wings. God wanted Bohemia to suffer punishment and 'Return to the Fold'. Either way, a great war was on the Horizon. Did we attack Bohemia and her allies and wage war on the east? Do we go after the Baden/Austrian alliance to the south. France and Luxembourg were more then ready for war. We wanted a good fight, So war was declared on Baden.... Much to the dismay of the Pope.

Our main force marched straight for the capitals of Baden and Burgundy plus the province of Sundgau. France Marched straight to Austria's holdings in Milan. Our army struck and all fell soon after our arrival.

After Baden was inaugurated into our nation, we found our next new puppet.

I dont know what our nations Vendetta is against Brabant, But I for one am glad I'm not them...

A major battle was won against the Austrians. This led to their retreat and put our nation into a full on offensive!!

Burgundy agreed to our peace deal.

Soon after, Austria's army was thoroughly beaten, and there was nothing but time until their lands fell under our control.

Total Victory. We wouldnt have it any other way.

Surely 'Bourg is the undisputed most powerful nation in the world? Total victory over Austria? Well done – and good to see Milan get to return.

I've never seen any Imperial Reforms, so I'll join Enewald and declare myself wanting to see some. Until then, I'm looking forward to the next update.

Chapter XIII: Our Kingdom Flourish

The Empire was safe. The Empire had never been more together. This was all due to Luxembourg. All recognized our awesome might. We have Tamed the Burgundians. We have tamed the French. We have now even tamed the Austrians. Or so we believed. The Empire was at peace.

The first Imperial reform has been passed. This will benefit the entire empire, not only ourselves. Luxembourg was loved by all. There was nothing that We could do to bring hatred upon ourselves, that was until Sigmund I passed away. War once again took control of The Empire.

The 'Subjugation of Brabant' had begun. It wasnt a big war, but it did somewhat offset the balance of the empire. War began to engulf them.

Another joins the fold. And because of this, it was time for another to be integrated into the main Family.

Our Kingdom flourished. There was nothing that could stop us. Austria seemed to want to try. They declared war on Tirol, in an attempt to re-consolidate their power. This brought our Ire, and we immediately joined to stop them.

Another unmatched Victory. This calls for another Imperial Reform!!

Our word in the empire is absolute, as we have demonstrated numerous times. Our word in our Kingdom is absolute as well.

Our Kings are absolute, no matter how short the reign.

Two reforms? Well, you've certainly delivered on your promise. Interesting to see them in action. Do they have any real (i.e., noticeable) benefits, or are they ultimately a nice bit of flavour?

You're having good luck with monarchs, it would seem. 7/8/7 is a nice set of stats. Hopefully Sigmund will live up to them in game.

The first reform cuts Tech cost down for every imperial nation. Not by much but it still helps. It also gives the Emperor a prestige boost. The second one I passed gave me a diplomatic boost, which makes it easier to integrate my nations. So hopefully France decides to integrate soon. If they dont do it for Sigmund II, I'm afraid they never will....

So how do you intend to stop being Emperor? Massive BB? Afaik you cannot dismantle the Empire as Emperor...

Few steps closer towards united Reich...

UnFotunately, Their wont be another Reich. I just played ahead, so My next move is to give up the seat and leave the empire. Its now time to fight the empire!!!

You cannot. So I am going to insult the electors until they pick someone else then leave.

Cool campaign!

Why Thank You!!

Were republics ruled out? Hoping for a female ruler would also work (if Luxembourg does have possible female rulers)

The First time I ever played as Lux, I had 4 straight female rulers. They were good rulers too.

New post coming later on today!!

I like it. Almost every single post since the PU with France was about beating on Austria. It's the sport of kings, punching out Austria's lights, and the crowning glory is when they finally get annexed for good. But why pass Imperial Reforms if you have no intent of being Emperor, unless you want a challenge when you intentionally give up the throne? Personally, I'd spend all the Imperial Authority just boosting relations with member states using Bestow Imperial Grace, since at least that carries over once you toss the crown back in the gutter where it belongs.

I'm disappointed to hear that you want to inherit France, though, I'd much prefer the dramatic tension that comes from having this big blue beast chained up in your cellar. Hopefully you'll reconsider and try doing something else wacky instead.

So, I have now played up to 1600, and I have run into a dilemma. Over the course of those years that I have played, I gain no land except for two vassal integrations, Poland and Pommerania. All through diplomatic ways. I cannot declare war for I have no CB. I declared war on Utrecht and ended up at war with europe. I declared war on Aachen, same thing happened. I declared war on Austria.... SAME THING HAPPENED!! I have no way to expand, except through vassals and PU. What should I do?

I would go for expanding outside europe, try to go colonizing and stufff

Sooner or later you will have to take on the combined might of the HRE if you want to disable it. You did not get Border Friction with anybody? No conquest CBs? Dropping a colony in Africa next to a Muslim and you'll get 50 years of Holy War CBs yet.. Otherwise wait for Nationalism... Luxembourg is in the German culture group right? You'll get enough CBs. Can't you jump into Russia using Unam Sanctum and Poland as a launch platform?

Luxembourg is Wallonian, French group. Though Rheinlaender is a big culture group right next door, if culture shift are an option (should be big enough even for a non-colonizing France by inheritance)
