I tried to translate our request:

Dear developers, dear publisher,

after the latest Statements by the developers in the official paradox-forums we fear, that the future expansions of cities in motion 2 will not be as comprehensive, as the fans hoped it would be. The high expectations are based on the experiences made with part one, which was built up with extensive DLC's over a long period of time in a very impressive way. At the moment this process seems not to be worked out with a similar depth for CIM2. The DLC's up to now were limited to vehicles and landmarks. A few statements indicate, that there are no further plans for more comprehensive add ons:

- You pointed out that there are no plans for any official maps at the moment. Those were a very important additon to the brilliant gameplay and atmosphere and offered a huge amount of improvement to the game experience of CIM1.

- Each question concerning new building sets (f.e. the strongly demanded european buildings) were answered in a circumventive manner. A few repeated answers were something like "New buildings are a huge amount of work", "they have to make financial sense", "The publisher first has to be convinced" etc.

It's quite amazing, that the possibilities for an evolutionary development of CIM2 are obviously much more limited than they were for CIM1. Although high quality addons are very important for CIM2. Why are they very important? On its release point CIM2 had much less content than part 1, and it absolutely seemed to be straightened for comprehensive DLC Addons. Now this hope seems to be nothing more than a fallacy.

Nearly 5 months after the release the ambitions for CIM2 feel half-hearted and unmotivated. Many fans cannot understand, why offering the diversified material to create interesting city models - which are a very big part of the gameplay fun - seems not to be an important issue.
With this material we particularly think of:

1. A much higher variety ob building types, which has at least the same level as CIM1. We are talking of:

- new building-themes in a european and maybe asian style.
- a higher choice of traffic-relevant buildings like airports, harbor-structures, central railstations

2. A choice of:

- concrete-, cobblestone-textures for the city center areas.
- decoration elements, fences, walls etc.

The benchmark is, like it was mentioned before, CIM1. It's a fact that all these features were possible in the first part - and they all were implemented! Why should this not be possible anymore with CIM2? We guess, for a following part the internal possibilites of the developer/publisher should be sufficient, to create at least a similar level of content. Otherwise we have to register a markable step back, no matter if there are a hand full of new gameplay features. The wonderful gameplay idea does not deserve this.

The fans agree to support both, developer and publisher, buying interesting DLC-packages with the mentioned contents. We appeal to Colossal Order and Paradox to expand Cities in Motion 2 with the same passion as you did with CIM1, and to work out appreciable more content for your community.

Very well said. CIM1 still had new DLC's coming out by the 2nd year of its release, and I hope CIM2 can continue improving for that long of a time.

As for the contents of the DLC, I think Metro Madness kind of stepped toward the direction of adding something different to the games, but the reason I don't like it is because it adds a lot of micromanagement, which I feel that the game has enough of. Aside from the most agreed upon subjects of new building sets and decorations, some other additions would vastly change gameplay are completely new types of transportation (BRTs as advanced as Bogotá, Monorails), new road types (roads with bus lanes in the center, smaller pedestrian roads that don't create intersections), or a special metro station with 4 platforms; All these are things that can significantly change how we play CIM2. For example, metro DLC adds a new feature, but won't affect how a player chooses to make his transport system. However, with roads with bus lanes in the median, for example, a player may use buses more frequently because buses are now able to run separate from traffic.

I agree, i really loved CIM1, and I hope that the Devs can retain their passion for CIM2. Their quality of work from CIM1 was so good and because of that they gained a mass following of fans. I believe they have a great community here, and this is something they shouldn't want to loose. Don't get me wrong CIM2 is a really good game, but i hope that they can focus on it in greater detail.

guys please stop pushing for more dlc's yes you want more content but there is a fuck load of bugs that need to be sorted first ¬_¬ i honestly dont understand why they are doing dlc's when they still have bugs 5 months down the line its pretty poor :/

please do not tell others what they have to engage for. I think both issues are extremely important: to eliminate bugs, and to produce good content. In my opinion, the gameplay itself has been improved very well until now.

Why can't they do both? The CO devs working on fixing bugs with the game engine are unlikely to be the same ones making new vehicles and buildings for DLCs - completely different skill sets. :)
