I have to say that future lites really need a seer.

I'm just jealous that he didn't get all attention-to-itty-bitty-details -like about my joke.

I disagree. This set-up may have favoured the wolves, but a village can win a game without a seer.
The fact is, the village was too inactive. The wolves, on average, were significantly more active than the villagers. And because of this, today it was quite simple for us, starting with the arch mede, to dominate discussion and lead everyone on to aedan (nothing personal, but you honestly were the best choice, even as a villager I probably would have voted you). This didn't require any acute skill on our part, although I would flatter myself that we all played competently at least.

EDIT: I would welcome a discussion on the future use of this type of multiple setup, though. I think it really helps. This game was fairly quiet, but with a fixed standard set-up I think it would have been worse, as trying to guess the set-up accounted for a fair part of the interest of the game.

In future, I would consider keeping Fall Grun, but replacing one of the wolves with a Warlock. I think this is brings the balance more towards the villagers.

I think the long delay made it harder for the village. It was also no help for me that I was in my cups for much of this game.

If EUROO7 could link to or copy this post at the start it would make life easier for statisticians:

And no, Lite's don't need a seer. We've had no-seer games won by the village before. What you saw here was a very competent display by wolves who were extensively PMing with each other and with villagers at key moments, and a complete failure by the villagers to act on their instincts

Good game everyone, it was fun to observe. Grats to the wolves, I'd say you deserved it. Even though most villagers made good points near the end, but the wolves just led the crowd I guess. Guess I'll be weary of crowd leaders when I'm playing...

(Note: I can write in white now that the game is over right?)

I agree that the pack worked well together. I also agree that the village can win without a seer; how often is the seer hunted day one or two anyway? It seems common. IMO, this village needed someone to rally them. Marty did his best, but he did not have their best interest at heart. LOL

There's nothing that makes a delay inherently worse for a village. In fact, additional time in and of it's own can only really help the good guys. It was merely the fact that a lot of people lost interest in the game because of the delay, but that could equally have happened to the wolves - it just didn't.

Also, I've never heard that idiom outside of ASOIAF before. And I was playing this in the middle of Freshers Fortnight (settling down with a bottle of Southern Comfort right now, purely out of peer pressure) so you can't use that as an excuse.

Yeah, you can write in any color now.

I'll make a new lite soon if no one else it up to it.

TAM was very active in our PM discussions. Rascar just flew under the radar all game. Interesting strategy. I even forgot he was playing a couple of times.

Never? It's pretty common in some circles, and I've never even read that series!

And peer pressure is the only excuse for drinking Southern Comfort. Or being 15 and it's all you can weasel from your parents' liquor cabinet.

Going under the radar is as old as the game and not at all very interesting for anyone, least of all the player himself.

It's easier to keep wolves involved in a game. They get to talk in a clique that actually knows who to trust, they get another phase in the game each day. They have to remain hidden which puts a different pressure on the game than being a villager. As a villager you have to be vigilant, until you are lynched/hunted for the greater good.

Also how involved did all of your wolves stay, I mean neither arach mede nor Raspa car were all that active. From what I could see in the thread at least.

Agreed, I forgot who was even still around. Wolves always have each other; we had no one.

Anoyone else who would like to have big game next? Not to criticize, Cliges, I'll sure check it out. Just to mention.

There's usually both a lite and standard going on at the same time. I'm a bit too busy to commit to running a Big WW right now.
