PDS is happy to present:
My name is: Boel Bermann
My forum nick is: Regina
At Paradox development studio I work as: PR Manager, bringer of information, the messenger.
So what do I do, really – what does that mean? I am a woman on a quest. I want to get our Swedish game studio and our strategy games to the world, in any way I can, so more can discover sandbox strategy. So I write A LOT of e-mails and do anything from talking to media and gamers, book interviews, make sure we get previews and reviews, press releases and you name it. Creating pr & marketing plans, making sure we have assets and creating video devdiaries and videos and answering questions in social media. I also come up with crazy and creative ideas and make those ideas come to life with the help of others. Things like the Yuletide carol, EU4 The Musical and CK2: 7 deadly sins videos, strategy flowchart and other insane and fun things that tell the tale about what our games are all about!
I have worked on: All PDS games since EU:Rome. Does that make me a veteran?
Right now I´m working on: All the games, including the top-secret ones.
My best game ever and why I like it (that I did not create): Grim Fandango, because I have lost my way and had in my teens stopped playing games. It was the game that made me find my way back.
My super power is: Convincing people. I am especially good at convincing people to do things they really want to do, but are hesitant to actually do. Anything from playing strategy to drinking beer falls into that category.
My hobbies include: Playing games and boardgames, watching movies, reading books, having fun. Writing scifi, fantasy and horror, on my own as well as together with my writing collective Fruktan. I had my first novel published this year “Den nya människan” that Doomdark got inspired by and added in as an event chain in CK2 without telling me, which was a fantastic surprise that made me incredibly proud!

If I was a game character, I would be: Well, my friends claim I am just like April Ryan from The Longest Journey.
Little known fact about the EU4: The Musical: Besides Ulm and the music producer, no one in the Europa Universalis IV Musical had a clue that they would be part of a musical. I texted my friends and said I needed extras and begged them to go to a music studio in the suburbs an early Saturday morning. I did not tell them they would be singing and performing in front of a video camera the entire day, they were completely unprepared. I´m in the documentary video, laughing so hard I cried in the end credits!
My best moment at Paradox Development Studio: It´s silly really, I don´t have a specific moment to tell. I should have, but my job has made me cry at times and have made me euphoric even more times. I care about PDS so much it hurts. I think one of the big things for me was when me and Johan became friends. PDS is such a good place with so many awesome geeky people and I am lucky to be part of it.
My kryptonite is: I hear patience is a virtue, but alas not one I possess. Please see my personal motto.
My personal motto is: A good plan violently executed now is better than a perfect plan executed next week.
