Since HOI4 and Rune Master were announced, I hope that Paradox is close to creating a forum for Project Augustus, so we can speculate more! (plz be spaec gsg)
Thanks for reading and disagreeing. -Dark

Link to Zoft mentioning Augustus.

It's highly unlikely that they're going to announce it so soon after the two other announcements. It seems to be a big project that needs more time.
Yes. Making two big strategy games at once is already quite a burden for Paradox I think, making a third might be too much.

They're making two at the same time (+CK2,EU4 DLCs), Runemaster is THE BEST GAEM OMFG!!11ONE!.
Fixed.

Runemaster was in development for two and a half years before it was announced (not sure about HoI4), so... Probably Augustus is in a very early development stage yet, so no announcement is planned until much later; it could become a big PR incident if it was heavily re-thinked or even abandoned for a different project later, if the existence of the game is public knowledge and it already has a devoted fanbase. Those kind of things happen in the games industry.

Augustus and HoI4 started development at the same time (around 8 months ago I think), but they're obviously not going to give two games the exact same development schedule and release them at the same time, so HoI4 gets its release first.

I don't think that refers to Project Augustus, there is no mention of it anywhere
Well I'm pretty sure it does. Remember that when this "Ask Paradox Anything" took place we didn't know the project names. And out of three new games, two are NOT sequels (Runemaster and project Augustus) and one is a sequel (HoI4).

but for all we know they may have scrapped the third project... we know that Doomdark started working on a new project only in December, we know that the EURome2 domain was registered in January and that at ParadoxCon one of the buzzwords was Rome II...

Can't they make a new Roman game without calling it EU:Rome 2? I heard that EU:Rome was pretty bad. They may want to sever the link between the two games.

I agree. I'd be upset if it was called Rome II. It should have an entirely new name and the link with EU should be dropped in favour of drawing more mechanics from Crusader Kings.

But what would Paradox call it? Ancient Kings: Rome? That would be cruel if they weren't planning on making a series out of it, and simply "Ancient Kings" doesn't play up the Roman aspect at all (which means it's bad for marketing).

Coming up with names to link it to Crusader Kings 2 is hard without simply making it "Crusader Kings: Rome"...

Mechanics, not name. Call it something call sounding in Latin. Urbi et Orbi would be a nice name, for example.
