Seamus died because there was still a chance for me to win. Had sexytoes and I switched on to SPLIT yesterday, he would've tied with Kiwi and we would've reached parity. But sexytoes had been misled of Euro apparently so he pretended to be a villager, which panicked me. And surrendering since then wouldn't have changed anything.

You do forget that you were both outed wolf. And also you forget that Seamus might be clueless but I highly doubt he would have allowed a warlock to tie me and kiwi. If you surrender yesterday we could have started one more game today!

The wolves are meant to have the advantage of co-ordination, but it didn't happen. We should have won the game the day EURO was lynched but both narref and the claimed warlock failed to vote. A tie would only win the game for us if a) sexytoes really was warlock and b) there was no GA, neither of which I could count on, so I chose not to blow my cover being confident in our ability to win the next day. However, even without narref and sexytoes EURO and I should have been able to get seamus lynched alone, and we should have talked about that and gone for it.

As for Sexytoes, that was disaster all over. All I knew was:

EUROO7 said:
He's approached me, claiming to be the warlock.

Contact him, if you feel the need.

Also,

hunt gug

I didn't see any of the PMs to know whether to trust his claims, and so I wasn't prepared to go right up to him and say "we're the wolves, we hear you're warlock". Plus I was expecting him to be subbed out for not voting, so I didn't contact him right away. By the time I did he'd already contacted seamus, and so he pretended to be a villager when we contacted him. Not fun.

Outings don't matter much. We only needed one villager splitting off from the herd, and we had that in seamus. Unfortunately we failed to co-ordinate ourselves.

I would have actually got us going for a snipe onto Seamus, as I knew you to well to think your vote would stay where it was. But we couldn't get our act together.

As for hunting seamus over you, I sent that order in, and my reasoning was a) you deserved to win more and b) you dying would only prove your outing of aedan. If aedan had seriously tried to fight today, he actually needed you alive so your word could be doubted.

Well, I asked euro which person should I block. That was not long before his execution, and it is not really hard to give a non-wolf name (that wont blow any wolf cover), so I trusted him and he said to block kiwi. Naturally, I thought kiwi is a villager. Judging by the votes, I figured if kiwi is a villager seamus must be a wolf. Then seamus said "Okay we gonna train kiwi". So I thought okay that makes sense - he subtly confirms that he knows what euro said to me without giving me any actual evidence if I am a villager spy.

I played awful though - I should ve given seamus the wrong scans, yeh.

If one wolf knows your name, best to wait until the others actually contact you :) Cause yeah, telling you to block me was probably meant as a hint that I was a wolf :p Not a good one, because we needed you blocking any seers or GAs.

Anyways, thanks to the GM for an excellently run game. Hopefully I made the end game a bit more entertaining for you than the usual JL steamroller, even if the JL got there in the end :)

Cheers GM, that's for the game :)

Mini-GM AAR:

First up, why put lovers in a lite game? Well, that wasn't just because this was a velntine's special, I've wanted to do it for a long time and even PM'd Euro to ask him if he thought it would be a good idea and he was highly supportive, stating it would get more people to feel involved in the game. My own reasons for wanting lovers were mostly for the poetic-ness of it, and of course once Valentine's day came up I saw it as a perfect opportunity to host the first lite game to include lovers!

The setup was Fall Blau, with Split as seer, Sexytoes as recluse, Euro, Kiwi and Narref as wolves and finally Steed and Tonkatoy were the glorious lovers.

Observations: I am happy with the setup, quite a good variety of roles, and a pretty strong wolfpack. And at least one of the lovers was roleplaying, that was really good too.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Night 0 -- Split scans DrXav the villager, recluse blocks Daffius, Euro sends a hunt list to pick from in case the wolves ever forget to send in an order.
List is:
Hunt Puchas
Backup Glio
Backup GuG
Backup Steed
Backup Drxav
Backup THE_SPLIT
Backup Nautilu
Backup sexytoes
Backup von_Rundstedt

Observations: List seems pretty good, no lover early in there, that's what's most important right now.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Night 1:

Split scans Steed the lover with Euro the werewolf as a back up. This is good. Steed will tell Split who his lover is, if he trusts him, so we get 2 more people in the GM.
Sexytoes blocks Nautilu with Euro as a back up, no effect, as expected.

No hunt order is sent so I use the previous list and Gliomarto is hunted.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Night 2:

Split scans Capt Kiwi if aedan is lynched, euro otherwise. He gets a werewolf either way. Back up is Arkansas in both instances.
The JL must be growing really strong...

And then...

Sexytoes blocks split the seer! Back up is Euro.
Not only did he hit a seer, but he did it as that seer was about to scan a werewolf. For a role that's generally considered little more than a cultist, that's some efficiency!

In view of the events of the day Split changes the order making it to scan Euro either way, smart choice, but sadly useless.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Night 3:

Split scans Capt. Kiwi the werewolf, Euro the werewolf is the back up.

Sexytoes had contacted Euro claiming to be the warlock, Euro lets his packmates know of this but doesn't reveal their identity to him. He suggests blocking Capt. Kiwi, which sexytoes does.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Day 4: Well on our way to parity(a villager dying is all that's needed)...

Capt. Kiwi said:
Great I'm back. The obvious lynch is Daffius, but I'm not quite 100% sold on him. Kiwi's vote may have been an alibi, but his previous posts had cast suspicions on Euro, so I think I believe that he had intended to vote Euro earlier. Still could be an alibi, but no more than most of the Euro voters. Seamus was put up yesterday, but I can't really fathom a reason why. Nautilu has been rather quick to join bandwagons and go after easy candidates. He only voted Euro when it was clear the village was against him. I'd say Nautilu or Daffius would be our best targets for today.

Very nicely done. We only need one villager to join the three of us, but obviously it's better that I'm not the one to start it since Nautilu and probably SPLIT will go for me. If we can get the villagers to split their votes, then slowly build the race between two eople, we should be able to get it at least 4-3 in our favour with no panic.

I'll try and get Daffius on our side. It's always good as a wolf to give just the right amount of sympathy to the right under-pressure villager. You tend to get a little sympathy in return ;)

Until Kiwi is outed...

You say you've been contacted as a scanned villager. So have I. Who have you been contacted by? If you are truly a villager, and you want the village to win, give me the name of the real seer. If I was a wolf, we'd win anyways.

True enough I guess. SPLIT.

me too.

Hunt SPLIT

If it's a bluff on seamus' part, good play to him.

It's nice to see Kiwi didn't give up after the outing - I've found when you're that close to parity, outings are much less trustworthy and can certainly be fought. Alas it still won here..

Night 4:

Split scans Daffius with Aedan as a backup
Wolves hunt Split the seer as revealed to them by Daffius
Wolves change the hunt order to seamus instead with split as a back up.
(Capt. Kiwi having already explained the reasons here)

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Overall, this was a fun game to GM and watch, if not as intense as some others, there were still some really exciting moments up till day 5. Was a rather bold move from Split to claim he had scanned Aedan as a werewolf when he hadn't, as he was the seer and likely to be hunted so if he was wrong he could have doomed the village. But he was right! Kiwi tried some "damage control" but it wasn't enough...

I think we should try the lovers again sometime...

But stay away from that red color! It doesn't even look good on the CK background...

@Steed and Kiwi: Glad you guys enjoyed the game! Thanks to you, Steed, for your roleplaying and to you Kiwi for always forwarding those interesting PMs!

Now, someone host CCLXXX, and quick! I have't played Werewolf properly in ages!

Yeah, I doubted SPLIT had actually scanned aedan. In one place he was claiming he'd scanned seamus first, in another it was someone else, he was claiming he knew Sexytoes was warlock because he'd blocked his EURO scan but in another place was claiming EURO had never been scanned... his scan lists were all over the place. I was kind of hoping aedan would try to push the line he was bluffing because of all the inconsistancies, and try and pin it on the other unscanned guy. Interesting that he hadn't scanned seamus at all, that didn't help.

In one place he was claiming he'd scanned seamus first, in another it was someone else, [/QUOTE]Really, Kiwi? What do you mean I did not scan seamus? Seamus was just a waste of a sub, not trusting the seer is something really really sad... especially after all the proof he had....

True dat.

Oh, I demand you switch your avatar back at once!!! This is unacceptable! First Ese, then you... what next??
I just... can't... take it... anymore...

Ich bin ein Cantabrian.

Don't worry, I'll change it back after the 22nd.
