Round 1 Double Fine vs. Paradox Development Studio

Double Fine:
Double Fine Productions is an American videogame developer founded by Tim Schafer. Notable works include Iron Brigade and Double Fine Happy Action Theater. It has also won several awards for its first game, Psychonauts. In 2013 they developed the popular game The Cave.

Paradox Development Studio:
Paradox Development Studio are the developers behind successful strategy franchises such as Crusader Kings, Europa Universalis, Hearts of Iron and Victoria. Their latest release is the critically acclaimed empire building game Europa Universalis IV that has received multiple editors' choice awards and is one of the highest rated games on Metacritic 2013.

Feel free to vote on your favourite. We hope that just happens to be PDS ;)

Lol, PDS are losing this poll. There's no hope for this world.

I'll vote for Double Fine... just kidding.
Also, someone said there Paradox has "repugnant DRM". What DRM? I never noticed it.
The arguments there seem that most people voting go Double Fine but most people commenting go Paradox.

Psychonauts and Brutal Legend. Fine.

Seriously? The hope for this earth is fading, the time of Paradox is over. The Age of Double Fine has begun.

*sails away to Valinor to leave to the DF's to rot in the wastes of a ruined Middle Earth*

Ugh. This is like asking which one of your children or parents is your favourite. There's no winning here. :(

Wow PDS is losing here against some (at least for me) unknown studio. Also indeed the comments against Paradox are kind of absurd. We must mobilize the forums! :)

I think this Poll is rather stupid, because PDS and DF do completely different kinds of games. For example, I would always vote for PDS in this situation as I really enjoy strategy games and PDS happens to make some while DF doesn't.

How bout Firaxis v Paradox?

Paradox would still lose. In fact, Paradox always seem to get stuck with mass-fanboy developers in either the starting or second round. It doesn't help these polls tend to revolve around websites frequented by teen FPS fans and then we all wonder why CKII might lose to CoD.

Well I've done my bit. Signed up for a site that I have no interest in and voted. Doesn't look like it'll do any good and I cannot believe the results though. Paradox may just well be the most underrated studio that I've ever known. On the bright side, paradox is certainly improving and it already seems to get a lot more media coverage (positive too) than it used to. So if they keep up the good work maybe they'll get the recognition they deserve.

So what if we had this poll on, say, the Dwarf Fortress site?

This. This is more of a genre vote. "Do you play strategy or adventure/action games?" Vote now.

Couldn't you guys please simply make a game together?
A narrative driven adventure game with powerful strategic elements full of funny NPC, meaningful choices and infinite replay value.

The fact that PI is currently losing against DF is perfect example that something is very wrong with the world we live in today...I just wonder where we went wrong...

Psychonauts had a sort of grand strategy level actually where you had to battle some kind of napoleon :)

I'm voting for Double Fine after I bought Conquest of Paradise and was incredibly disappointed.

Overall I think EU4 has been a terrible mess and Johan has been making extremely questionable decisions.

Thank you for the link.

Meh, tried to vote, but even after signing up I couldn't figure out how to. Is the time limit already up, or is the site just that unintuitive?
