You know, if we're going to have a poll, I think it would be more interesting to see who here really cares about official wins and who doesn't. Because the first set won't actually try to weasel their way back into a game with inside information, nor will they try any of the other potentially game-wrecking moves to win.

So if we have a reasonable amount of those, then yes, perhaps we need to tighten the rules.

I don't care much one way about win counts, but I wouldn't deprive a sub of a win.

Now, one thing about that game was that Split was actively asking panzer to give up his sub position. It did seem a bit meta-like, along the lines it being thus that panzer was "morally" obligated to do it as aedan "should have" resigned anyhow and Split was entitled to be part of the inevitable victory due to only having been hunted because aedan didn't do the right thing and quit. .

I'm not around enough for anyone to really care about my opinion, but it sound like someone was just being a poor sport and an idiot. you can't make enough rules to prevent that, I would just not play with that person again.

I think this would be the conclusion I would also draw from following the comments on this thread.
No need to make a poll for this.

Anyone subbing out (barring RL circumstances) on the penultimate day sort of deserves that anyway.

I don't actually care about win records, so the point is moot, from that perspective. And I thought the point was not worth making, until I learned of this incident. Now, I don't want to flat out ban all subbings, as sometimes they are sorely needed, and may perfectly well be legitimate, but if you were killed in one game it should count as a defeat for you, regardless of whether you get to sub in later and win. It's not exactly fair competition, and renders wolf strategies of silencing those that know too much somewhat irrelevant.

Ridiculous motion deserves riducule. Poor sportsmanship deserves scorn.

I've always been in favor of simply declaring that spot vacant. I really don't like autolynches and I think a better system can be devised.

One point I would like to make though is that this motion seems to have come about because of the actions of one single player who deliberately violated the spirit if not the letter of the rules. Such actions can always occur and it's quite impossible to prevent all of them. We've had dead players sub in many times without issues and I feel quite strongly that an outright ban would cause harm to quite a few games in trade for maybe, just maybe, a small gain in one or two cases.

I am considering these posts as the 4 horseman of the voting and thus declare the community as not wanting a ban but that people that cheat the current rules are hippies that deserve to be called out as such. And that those darn kids should stop skateboarding on the sidewalk.

We should take away their avatars. EUROO7 can testify to the mental anguish that causes.

I would not wish that on my best friend, but wouldn't rule it out for my worst enemy.
