Mac User (dunno about specs, but went into the store a year ago, told them to give me best macbookpro they got)
fresh install of CK2
fresh download of LI
running only with Flatmap mod (though same issue without it as well)
drawtrees=no
not high rez
gamespeed 3/5
All DLC (including recent persian faces & units)
Plenty of GBs cleared in the harddrive
Not running anything else in the background

no matter who i play, around 1090s the game slows down to a snail's pace (to the point that when i free a prisoner i see the notification for it 3-4 second after that) and the days seem to take forever to pass.

this is followed by a CTD (not freeze)
CTD also triggered by clicking "save game" or any autosave

started a few days ago.

compatibility issue?

also; is it possible to have a LI-lite sub-mod for the technologically impaired - with integrated/optional flatmap, no trees etc, "symbolic" map units and cities (a la "counters" in HoI)?

I'm seeing the same slowness (no crash) on Windows 8, have no such problem in vanilla.

Specs:

OS Name Microsoft Windows 8
Version 6.2.9200 Build 9200
Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-3350P CPU @ 3.10GHz, 3101 Mhz, 4 Core(s), 4 Logical Processor(s)
Installed Physical Memory (RAM) 8.00 GB

I can dig up my graphics card information if it's relevant, but it's not like there's a lot of strain on the video card in this game. :)

Right now I'm at 1093, and the lowest speed setting is indistinguishable from the highest. Changing speed settings takes 4-5 seconds to take effect.

Currently using 30% CPU, 3.4GB RAM.

I'm going to try running a while on vanilla see if I start to see the same thing: it's probable that it's a problem with CK2 that just takes a lot longer to hit. If anyone else has had this problem and found a solution (in vanilla or otherwise) a pointer in the right direction would be appreciated.

Thanks!

if it's possible, could you guys upload your save games that happened before and after the slowdown? and also share what was happening before the slowdown suddenly occured?

we're having trouble identifying the source of these sudden massive slowdowns as well, and any potential clues are helpful
