Always nice when Abyssinia conquers Egypt. Nice revenge for all those times they got steamrolled in 20 years by the Fatimids...
Especially when the Solomonids are still in power. Well, it's not like they have many enemies in the area. The Sunni Caliphate controls only Hedjaz, Yemen and Oman, while the Emirate of Nefoud is independend and Basra is currently contested between these both factions, a Norwegian petty king and the Nestorian Ilkhanate.
West of Egypt there's the Shia Caliphate which controls all of Mauretania and Mali, but seems to be in constant rebellion. Islam took a nosedive when the Mongols attacked. :D

The Karlings are still around - they rule over a few duchies within France and the Holy Roman Empire. They lost the throne of the Holy Roman Empire fariley early - there were only 3 Karling emperors.

The Geroldonen held the Holy Roman Empire together for a long time and even integrated France and Aquitaine. The main branch then died out, leaving the throne to the Irish kings of Alba. These guys were scarily competent - they kept to their Irish origins, but still managed to keep everything together. They also had cadet branches in Scandinavia and Britain, making them one of the most powerful dynasties of their time. Ironically, the first German emperor of this dynasty caused the mess which you can still see on the map. Maybe my cadet branch will reunite the empire, who knows. We'll see in EU4. :D

There is a Kannada Hindu in Karelia.
This is either the best expansion or the most broken one, and I'm leaning heavily towards in the middle because Europe looks like this now.

Newborn daughter didn't renounce Iconoclasm, therefore executed by father.

What a cruel world... The child had no idea what the faith was and she was killed because of it. I demand to see the Emperor killed for his crime !

Weird she was executed by the Emperor... But In my game he was a Zealot and thus I could not get rid of Iconoclasm :(

If you go on a crusade against an apostle, do you go to heaven or to hell ?

(Should have been a philoraptor... but I'm lazy :p)

I don't have any screenshots, but Karlmann died of natural death at the age of 20 almost at the beginning of the game. Charlemagne blobbed West Francia, then he lost a revolt and the throne. A year later, he became king of Saxony and a few years later the blob splitted in West and East Francia. Charlemagne is still king of Saxony >.<

The Iconoclast Emperor extended Iconoclasm in the Empire, and now it's the official religion. Orthodoxy is just a declining almost wipped out heresy XD

"The Great", huh? :D
My Karl the Great got hit in the head when fighting bretons. with 10 to 1 numerical superiority...
Needless to say I cheated a bit :p

The Saxons are stronger in small numbers. As Wulfhere and his friends demonstrate here:

Also, the blood Saxons event shouldn't fire for children...

...and bishops shouldn't try to intervene after the beheadings have taken place.

It's 780 anno domini - and the Teutonic Order is a Italian dominated organisation based in Aquitaine.
