It did indeed. Honestly, GUG being capable of making up that kind of lie? Really?

Of course, it didn't help that Nautilu went kamikaze or the wolves hunted active players such as yourself. :(

Day 4
Detective GUG lied about Detective Nautilu! That means Nautilu must have really been in contact with the Special Agent. We swoop in and arrest Detective DutchGuy! Beers are cracked and celebrations are had! Wait, what's this? A message from the BKA? "After further review, DG had no connections to the Monster." Well then . . .

Night 4
Special Agent GUG is sitting at a coffee shop one night. He's sipping away on a cup of joe, black like his ex wife's heart. He's actually Sherlock Holmes, the genius English detective who signed up with the BKA to help them bring down the rampant serial killer known as the Monster. He frowns. Despite having a number of good leads, he's failed to arrest a single associate of the Monster. He sees four men approach them. They sit down and demand that he comes with them. He's able to quickly deduce that these men must be working with the Monster. He agrees to go with them and this is the last time he's seen alive by anyone but the Monster's associates. His body is found the next day with a bullet in the head.

DG the villager is lynched

GUG the seer is lynched

Later . . .
The taskforce soon comes under control of the Monster's associates. It's efforts are circumvented and it ends up wasting months chasing after shadows and false leads. The Monster continues to kill, slowly turning the town of Sasbach against itself. One night, his plan finally comes to fruition. Riots break out over the police's failure to catch the killer. Lynch mobs form. The city burns. Hundreds die that night. During that time the Monster and his associates slip away, moving on to a new and greater goal . . .

STALINGRAD
((Overwhelming wolf victory))

Winners:
THE_SPLIT
Aziz
brovahkiin
JohnKjeken

A well-earned loss for this village.

Ugh, in my defense, neither the JL nor the rest of the village played that game well, and that includes me.

I thought GUG was lying after yesterday, but it appears that the wolves had indeed come up with a winning strategy.

Ugh, in my defense,

People need to stop saying this. Take responsibility for your actions. Savor this loss. Learn from it.

Is it my turn, since Arkasas wants the one after the next one?

So my only question is, where did the whole nautilu thing come from? Did he do that of his own volition, or did a wolf pose as seer to him?

People need to stop saying this. Take responsibility for your actions. Savor this loss. Learn from it.

This.

Here is my conversation with GUG on IRC:

[14:26:50] <LatinKaiser> Ok]
[14:26:55] <LatinKaiser> This is urgent
[14:27:17] <GreatUberGeek> Yes?
[14:28:56] <LatinKaiser> So, we get everyone to lynch Nautilu.
[14:29:00] <LatinKaiser> And Aziz
[14:29:42] <LatinKaiser> Here's the case on NautiluP:
[14:30:11] <LatinKaiser> The he contacted someone who was not in the JL
[14:30:19] <LatinKaiser> To get them to do an outing
[14:30:51] <LatinKaiser> We need to pressure him in thread to reveal who the other JL members are
[14:31:13] <GreatUberGeek> ok, do you want to do that or do you want me to?
[14:31:27] <LatinKaiser> Meanwhile, in order to protect you, I will pretend to be the Seer and you will just be a spokesman
[14:31:48] <LatinKaiser> I will
[14:32:19] <LatinKaiser> Then the case on Aziz is this: she is using the Gambler's Fallacy to try to hide her role
[14:32:41] <LatinKaiser> Saying "it's so unlikely that you scanned 2 wolves in 3 nights."
[14:33:21] <LatinKaiser> If we manage to lynch Aziz then SPLIT will shortly follow.
[14:34:03] <GreatUberGeek> and aziz is strawmanning as well, correct?
[14:34:18] <LatinKaiser> Whatever that means, :p)
[14:34:22] <LatinKaiser> I guess
[14:34:28] <GreatUberGeek> I think she is
[14:34:58] <LatinKaiser> But you NEED to know that either you or I will be hunted tonight
[14:35:12] <LatinKaiser> So please don't scan me tonight
[14:35:18] <LatinKaiser> For I might be dead
[14:35:23] <GreatUberGeek> Alright, I'll change the scan
[14:35:33] <LatinKaiser> Scan... brovahkiin
[14:35:53] <LatinKaiser> Actually, maybe Xarkan
[14:36:15] <LatinKaiser> Bro has been too zimbie-ish to be of use to a JL
[14:38:47] <GreatUberGeek> Sent the order to happycats
[14:40:56] <LatinKaiser> Good
[14:41:38] <LatinKaiser> So if the village follows us, then we can lynch Nautilu today and then follow with al-Aziz and SPLIT tomorrow.
[14:41:50] <GreatUberGeek> Remember, Nautilu did claim to be seer
[14:41:58] <LatinKaiser> We cannot risk a tie today
[14:42:02] <LatinKaiser> He did?
[14:42:07] <LatinKaiser> That's dumb
[14:42:10] <GreatUberGeek> In his Pms to me, yes he did
[14:42:21] <LatinKaiser> Well, when he isn't hunted, then the village will see the truth
[14:42:38] <LatinKaiser> We need to endure that no one can save Nautilu
[14:43:00] <LatinKaiser> He is the cornerstone, and if we remove him, then the rest of the pack falls too
[14:48:27] <GreatUberGeek> Huzzah
[14:48:32] <LatinKaiser> Also
[14:48:44] <LatinKaiser> I realized there is a major discrepancy
[14:48:54] <LatinKaiser> In his PMs, he said he is seer
[14:49:10] <LatinKaiser> In his fake outing, he said "I am in contact with the seer."
[14:49:21] <LatinKaiser> Classic blunder #3 :p
[14:51:37] <GreatUberGeek> Look at what he just posted
[14:51:45] <LatinKaiser> Yep
[14:51:49] <GreatUberGeek> If he's a villager he is playing quite badly
[14:52:08] <LatinKaiser> Nah, he's not
[14:52:29] <LatinKaiser> Villagers don't try to do "outings" themselves
[14:52:58] <LatinKaiser> Also, every wolf that knows he's going to be lynched says, "When you see that I'm a villager, lych X."
[14:53:15] <LatinKaiser> Hoping that X will be lynched instead of him.
[14:56:09] <GreatUberGeek> Going sledding
[14:56:15] <GreatUberGeek> :p
[14:56:18] <LatinKaiser> K
[14:56:23] <LatinKaiser> Enjoy the snow
[14:56:27] <LatinKaiser> :)
[15:52:04] <LatinKaiser> If I am hunted, you have to go through with my cases.
[15:52:25] <LatinKaiser> If the village requires more than just outings, back them up with evidence
[15:53:10] <GreatUberGeek> Alright
[16:15:56] <LatinKaiser> Ahem

People need to stop saying this. Take responsibility for your actions. Savor this loss. Learn from it.

But...

neither the JL nor the village played well, and that includes me.

I did take responsibility. I said I didn't play well.

Night 0: First order I received from the wolves was this:

Hello packmates. This is just the backup hunt list, feel free to send proper hunt orders. I'd rather not do it as I really, really suck at hunting seers so I'd prefer is somebody more insightful/lucky would send hunt orders (but remember to cc packmates, please). If you have questions, shoot. Make sure your PM box isn't full, keep in mind that you have no inside knowledge whatsoever, don't bandwagon but don't be too quiet either and it'll go well. Like always, I'd prefer not killing active players first if it can be avoided.

backup hunt order list:
15. GreatUberGeek
1. aedan
2. madchemist
3. enkhuush
4. DG
6. Cyms
8. Rovsea
9. Arkasas
10. alxeu
12. nautilu
14. LatinKaiser as a confused Dane
16. Daffius
17. Xarkan
This message scared the crap out of me because the seer was the first hunt on the list. Apparently Skobie is better at hunting seers than he thought. Thankfully the better sense of THE_SPLIT prevailed and he decided to pick madchemist as a target. GUG never sent me a PM on Night 0, so his seer order was wasted.

Day 1: Not much to say about today. Village almost nabbed a wolf, but the fact that the players on at deadline were Rovsea and two wolves (JK and THE_SPLIT) meant that they were all too happy to let Rovsea switch to enkhuush and make it look like he “saved” brovahkiin.

Night 1: Not much discussion in the wolf pack. With Skobie subbed out, JK, bro, and al-Aziz seem all too happy to let THE_SPLIT make the hunts. First hunt was for Rovsea, but then it was switched to Daffius, probably because THE_SPLIT realized that Rovsea was the best fall guy for “saving” bro that day. GUG decides to scan Skobaziz and hits his first wolf. Now if only someone could help him out that wolf . . .

Day 2: Rovsea, bro, and JK were the top three candidates today, AKA two wolves and a guy who didn’t want a tie. Village went with Rovsea and got another villager. Honestly, I think aedan was the most level headed person here. Bro voting Rovsea should’ve sent up signals that they weren’t as close as people thought. Bro probably should have been lynched here, and the village would have nabbed their first baddie.

Night 2: Again, not much discussion about wolf hunts. Aedan was THE_SPLIT’s first choice with a backup of Xarkan, then it was switched to Cyms with a backup of alxeu. GUG decided to scan THE_SPLIT today. TWO SCANNED WOLVES! Shame there’s no one to out them.

Day 3: I, I don’t even know where to begin with this day. I don’t know why nautilu sent those PMs to GUG. Was he that desperate to get a wolf? Was he so sure that DutchGuy was a wolf? Did someone else send him PMs to make him believe that they were the seer? I don’t know, but either way this day probably killed the village. GUG’s reputation is going to be shot when nautilu comes up as a villager. Ironically, the village lynching GUG and revealing him as seer would’ve probably been the better thing to happen today, because then they could at least have trusted his outings of Aziz and THE_SPLIT. I was drunk when I read most of this and I haven’t laughed that hard in a while. GMing is great.

Hello my associates. I'm the Monster. For one reason or another you have decided to follow and serve me, but you are just the beginning. I'm glad you all did as I asked and performed exemplary work to get onto this taskforce. Now, I want you to destroy it from the inside. Bring it down and with it the hopes of this town. Serve me well, followers.

non-IC: You are the wolf pack.
Conditional Hunt order:
If Nautilu is lynched, hunt Xarkan
If DG or Geek is lynched hunt Nautilu
Wait. If Nautilu's outing is false, then he will get lynched tomorrow. So wouldn't we want to just hunt someone else regardless?

Also, this is scary good... poor villagers.
Yes but if he lives until tomorrow he will tell the villagers who the "seer" is... which is something definitely not desired. Best outcome for today is to have Nautilu lynched, and then let GuG take the blame for it and have him and DG tied tomorrow for additional effect..... So guys, do not switch from Naut too much, we want to have him lynched....

Also the original plan simply called for Naut to do a fake outing and get hunted.... He involved GuG who was in JL and GuG probably did the only thing he should not have done.... Outed an unscanned player as a wolf....
As a goodie that is something you never, ever do......
Bold is my emphasis. So it appears that THE_SPLIT was the one who fed Nautilu the information and Nautilu believed him and then asked GUG, the one player he should not have asked, to do the outing. GUG overreacted in his zeal thinking he had found a third wolf and this kicked off the train wreck that followed. This was the actual hunt they ended up going with:
THE_SPLIT said:

If DG or Geek is lynched hunt Nautilu
GUG scanned Xarkan tonight and had his first villager for the JL! Too bad no one will believe him now.

Day 4: Looking like the village will lynch DG. Then the wolves just need to hunt and they win. This is looking like a Stalingrad. Bro made a pretty big slip which LK pointed out. Probably should have been lynched for that.

Night 4: THE_SPLIT reminds his packmates to just coast to victory and let DG the “scanned wolf” get lynched today. They hunt GUG because why not?

Final analysis: This shouldn’t have been this easy for the wolves. If GUG was able to use his powers on night 0, then there might have already been a real JL by Day 3. If bro was lynched on Day 2 instead of Rovs, then there would have bought another day until parity. If Nautilu didn’t contact GUG to do the outing, then we might not have had the day 3 mess and if GUG didn’t immediately react to it on the thread, then same thing. All in all, this was not a great showing for the village as a whole. Smarter play could have made this a village win. Although, the wolves did a good job as well. If THE_SPLIT did orchestrate the false outing, then that was a great play on his part. I have to say I was quite pleased with the initial wolf pack. Skobie and THE_SPLIT are two great players and they were balanced out by bro and JK who were new players who didn’t have much experience being wolves. I expected bro and JK to be lynched early, then for Skobie and THE_SPLIT to make a run for it as long as they went unscanned and bro or JK didn’t do something that made them look like obvious packmates. I was afraid when Aziz was subbed in since there were now three new players in the pack, but based on the result I didn’t need to be.

I also have to say that I quite enjoyed my first game as a GM. I hope to do it again soon!

Also something I didn't put in my AAR. Naut claimed seer in his PMs to GUG. When he came up villager I'm surprised there wasn't more discussion about that. He might not have been a wolf but he lied either way.

I tried to point this out, but the sheep were led astray by their false shepherd...
