I was just watching the Paradox stream.

Did one of the devs wear a Rome II shirt? :eek:hmy: Rome II confirmed?!

Wouldn't be inconceivable, considering that they might be interested in repairing their own version of the Rome bandwagon in the wake of Rome II TW. It could be lucrative.

That shirt made its appearance in their last (?) appearance at a convention. Its not even an issue of 'they're likely trolling us' but more of 'they absolutely were trolling us and admitted it when we flipped out at them.'

"What shirt?! We never said anything about a shirt! Go back to sleep sheeple..."-- Johann:p

Well of course we are being trolled and teased. But if they actually ARE planning to make a Rome game, I'll be the happiest man in the world. :D

The first post mentions project name Augustus (after HoI4), I have always thought that it must be Rome II.
I'm willing to guess by the project name that it's starting with Augustus time-line when Rome became an empire and ending at 768.

They expanded Crusader Kings timeline to 768 AD - 1453 AD (685 years).
Assuming that Rome II will have a timeline 27 BC - 768 AD (795 years).
Without the timeline extension for CKII it would be a huge gap in between or the Rome II timeline would be very much too long.

Then we would get a timeline from 27 BC - 1948 AD with Rome II -> CK II -> EU IV -> VC II -> HoI IV

This is just my mind dreaming so don't take this seriously :p

The fun in Rome was to build the empire, not to start with it already built... :(

Hey,

A Rome 2 with a great time-line like: 753 BC to 476 AC, [maybe thanks to DLCs...] would be great!
(maybe released 2016 ?)

And it would be the best with a converter, like Rome2-to-CK2

Greets! ;)

I'd say, it should go on until at least 565 AD and the death of Emperor Justinian (or better still 641 AD and Muslim invasion). Until that time Roman Empire was still working as it had been for centuries, albeit having lost around half of their territory.

After Muslim invasion, things drastically change and Crusader Kings II kicks in. But until 641, the classical empire still existed. :)

They (long ago, before they revealed Runemaster and HoI4) said that only one of the unrevealed games would be a sequel (which was HoI4 in the end). So, Augustus isn´t Rome II (sadly it neither is Vicky 3).
