Are we forgetting about them? Perhaps they are an important part of the seniors' entertainment. And they need them. Maybe not with a particular style, like those of the seventeenth or eighteenth century, I like the modern ones, as well. And they could be a beautiful addition to particular districts. Let them live! :p

I'm 20 years old and I like to go to the theatre, much better than football to me ;)
I agree with you but not for seniors, everybody can enjoy it.
Operas will be a good idea as well.

Here, one of the most beautiful operas ^^

Palais Garnier, París

exactly. I never understood why in simcity 4, museums and libraries expand education only for senior citizents and not for all age groups. ;)

Sinname, move to Copenhagen. I need to someone who I can drag to the theatre and opera.

Also good that somebody lifts this topic. We need cultural institutions in the game. They are often the life-blood of cities, and they are the institutions which excels are city beyond the boring blandness of a small town. Combine that with the ability to build big universities...

We need everything from operas, local community centres, theatres, museums, libraries, culture centres and so forth. They are part of the instruments a modern progressive city use in order to enhance and improve the citizens lives.

Why stop there? Why not:
Museums, theaters, (mentioned)
Malls
Nursing/Old folks homes
Walking paths
Zoos
And, of course, cemeteries.

Some of those will be useful for all ages, (oh, and sports stadiums), but don't children need things beyond parks- like playgrounds?

On the other hand, you can go crazy adding "stuff" to the game (Beaches? Harbors? Small boats? Boat ramps? Landfills? Water purification plants? Car dealerships?) to make people "satisfied" and add more "realism" to the game.
Come to think of it, is 'citizen satisfaction' even measured?

Haha ^^ It's not so strange young people going to the theatre, is it?
Nightclubs are a good idea too, very realistic. Every city has one, or more than one, zones to go out and have fun.

Yes, I agree with you, I was only talking of a statistical average of the population. ;)

And I agree with everybody who also wants libraries and museums in the game. A big investment in culture.
