  • Cities: Skylines Deluxe Edition
We as fans of Paradox Interactive and city simulation games are very excited to play the game. That being said we always have additional wants for any game. So here we can state are wants of the game. I am very happy about the progress so far, but I do have additional wishes for the game. here are a few of these wishes.

1. Add a network transportation system. (example) Having the ability to be able to create transportation interchanges, like one way roads.
2. Add the ability to be able to make Underground Subways and Elevated Trains.
3. Add tools to be able to change the terrain. like River tools for creating water and elevation tools for Mountains and hills.
4. Add the ability to be able to create disasters like volcano's and tornadoes.

This is all my wishes for Cities Skylines. If anybody else has any wishes they would like to add feel free to do so.

Thank you Paradox for your want to create the game that fans will enjoy and having an open mind to hear your fans wishes and wants.
I have always been a fan of this company and really look forward to this amazing game. Keep up the awesome work.

#1.. I'm pretty sure you'll be able to do that.
#2 I don't think at this point they will have underground tunnels for rail, but they will have elevated trains.
#3 I'm pretty sure they'll have a map editor, it would be a pretty big let down if they didn't.
#4 They haven't said anything about disasters.. I personally don't need them

----

#5 Increased maximum zone size from 4X4 to 6X6 at least
#6 No plopping of any sort of buildings, have all skyscrapers grow naturally
#7 More realistic building sizes compared to the real world
#8 Subway stations that are in-street compatible, not taking up another square.
#9 A good skyline simulation for the Central Business District, where buildings get taller toward a focus or an area of town due to transportation, land value, proximity to water, and pre-existing taller buildings.
#10 (kind of the same as 9).. Less tall buildings all over the place, and more of a transition from the edges of the city to the center as buildings get more substantial, but only increase a few stories at a time, as the skyline slowly grows taller.

That's kind of it- CO has done a great job with everything else so far it seems, and have really revolutionized some things, like the traffic (road, rail) sim, water sim, and adding a realistic sky and landscape... as well as subtle things like the tilt-shift, which I love, and the ability to easily make curved and other types of roads, this is going to be huge.. I can't say enough good things about this game, but I really hope they fix the things that aren't quite right and don't rush releasing this game.. so it's a huge hit instead of mildly successful.

Hmmm...I don't agree with #5. I think e idea of mega-buildings like skyscrapers, massive shopping malls, ect should be ploppable because in real life a council of a district does not let skyscrapers pop up anywhere they want so long as conditions are met. Massive amounts of planning permission are required for these sorts of buildings and I think if skyscrapers and other megastructures are zoneable we will lose control over the skyline.

I also really hope that there will be some sort of river/sea wall or promenade. Cities just don't look as good when the concrete just ends and there's a little bit of land before the water...the sharp edge of a seawall makes a waterfront city look real.if this isn't in at launch then hopefully will be modded in quickly.

I also hope that the I will be able to make any sort of highway interchange I like, because I love that sort of stuff.

I do have a question about Mods. I hope there will be some kind of website that we can all post the mods to just for the one game. Like Simcity has a website for mods just for that game. I really like that idea that there is a website ready for mods to
uploaded and I hope that will be made for this game. Also for the thing I said in #1. I really hope it won't just be predone I hope it will be that you have the option to build the one you want and I like the idea of puzzle pieces like Cities XL Realistic Highway Mod that the transitions use puzzle pieces. Just like in this picture.

The demolish tool and height restrictions should be enough to control a skyline. I firmly believe that skyscrapers should be growable as they are in SC4, and I'd argue that plopping them is even MORE unrealistic. What city council has the power to choose exactly where they want to build a skyscraper? A skyscraper is a private commercial endeavor, which fits perfectly with RCI development standards. Plopping, in my opinion, should be limited to public structures like libraries, fire stations, water towers, etc.

1) Only thing missing is trams. You can create an interchange with one way road, buses, subways, trains, ships and planes.
2) You have subways already. Elevated train is a bit unknown: you can elevate tracks but I'm unsure it's possible to do what your expecting of that (have road and tracks following the same path with the tracks above)
3) In map editor, you can (and river tool is about elevation and spawning points). I think it was told somewhere that maybe we could switch between the modes during game, but don't take my word on that.
4) No disaster in game yet. Maybe later.

Yeah I think the ability for elevated rail is built in, but as far as I know there are no elevated stations as of yet. I suspect that this would be relatively easy to add in after launch.

Trams are a must after release, at least in my opinion.

Disasters I don't really care about one way or another, I'd be fine if it was a later DLC that I could safely ignore :)

Would be nice if you can share cities via Workshop so that gifted players can create god awful cities that you have to "fix", sort of like scenarios.

#1. YES! There are one way roads and the ability to create complex interchanges! The only thing which looks lacking at the moment are "merging lanes" or "speed up, slow down lanes" when exiting a freeway, which looks abit silly. Also the ability to parallel snap roads / rail together like in Train Fever would be nice.

#2. At the moment there are confirmed "Metros" aka "Subway", also Railway can be elevated. Lacking on this though is the ability to join the two up (no underground rail or roads, BUT underground roads are confirmed later on so maybe in future?)

#3. There will be a map maker BEFORE going into city building mode but NO in-game terraforming :( I hope they change this too as it will become problematic.

#4. No disasters at launch, no talk of after launch either that I've seen.

I'm conflicted about this now.. I used to think 4x4 was a silly idea but now I'm beginning to see how it could make sense to plop larger buildings such as malls or massive towers.. Who would want 4 malls all growing side by side? It could get tricky.

I can see the argument for malls, because they have truly gargantuan footprints. But skyscrapers? Eh. I feel it would rob a lot of that organic feeling I think they're shooting for. Either way, I still think 4x4 is a severe limitation, ploppable skyscrapers or not, just given the enormous variety of shapes and sizes we see in buildings in real life.

Yeah, but they need permission from the Mayor to be able to build a skyscraper.

I would love to see road and power lines slightly modified.

1. When roads are built, they have no power lines.
2. If a power line is built or a road is close enough to "transmit" the power between houses/zones, the road is automatically "updated" to include power lines on all powered sections.
3. I would have to "upgrade" the road again to have the power lines underground - below the road.

Would be nice if the road upgrading didn't just work for beautification, but also other things:
1. power
2. water / sewage
3. high speed internet (increase zone attractiveness for adjacent office buildings or rich folks) or other services
4. Even street lights. There are plenty of rural roads without street lights...
