Guys,

Are we going to have an option to get rid of that HUGE BLUE Tweeter bird on the top the screen. I know it displays notifications but can we hide it when there is no new notification?

Its annoyingly blocking the view.

Cheers

It seems quite ridiculous to me for the developers to completely refuse to add an option to turn the bird off, or even minimize or move it - especially when I see the amazing job they did with key-bindings and in game options in the other thread.

Well he hasn't refused. He's asked us to try it for a while then give fully informed feedback.

Fully Informed feedback? Doesn't he know where he is? this is the internet, the land of kneejerk over-reaction.

Yes and I recognise the irony because I'm one of those pre-judging :)

You no like Tweeter Bird?

NO CSL FOR YOU!!!

I'm not a fan of twitter and the bird looks a little out of place to me... but the feedback it contains is important and top centre is a good location for it. I don't think turning it off is a viable option - other than removing the interface for screenshots. CXXL suffers from burying the feedback - I don't want to see C:SL make the same mistake, so in that respect I am glad it is prominent. I'm sure the icon can be replaced with something more subtle if people wish.

My concern seeing that bird is that we're going to end up with some teenage girl utopia, where everything is happy and fun and we can save the environment and that everyone can be happy.

I really yearn for a city builder that takes the gritty topics seriously. I want to see a 'The Wire'-like representation of crime. Not the kind of panto that SimCity and every other city builder has thrown at us.

I want it to be a hard decision to create an environmental utopia, one that will cripple your citizens finances - not just an endgame for creating a wealthy city.

Probably reading too much from one bird but I saw it and I thought CHILDISH. There is enough childish city builders - it's time for a better representation of reality.

I think it's so amazing how all scandinavians are obsessed with internet social media. I still remember this norwegian guy at the Eurovision with his everyday usage of hashtags. I think Mariina, the CEO and this guy Eric Saade would go pretty well together ;)

How would creating an environmental city cripple your citizens finances? That makes no sense.

I'd rather you tell me why comparatively more expensive technologies and environmental levies have no associated cost to the end consumer i.e us.

Were Kyoto targets failed to be met because governments thought there was an economic benefit to be had in meeting them?

Kyoto targets weren't met because government officials, especially in the US like to fatten their wallets with money from fossil fuel companies. Am I wrong in saying that many countries did in fact meet their obligations and it didn't ruin them? Besides which, what are we talking about here? If you are talking about power, in games like this that is government run, so it increases costs to the government. If you can pay for it then great. Other than that, the main way you reduce pollution in these games is moving away from heavy industry and manufacturing and toward clean, high tech industries and office jobs. Which doesn't decrease citizen wealth, it increases it (because those are better higher paying jobs). Public transport, again owned by the state in these games. If the state can afford it then it's not a problem. In real life it would be a great investment to start seriously chasing clean energy. Everybody, even the stubborn nations like the US and China, will need it soon enough and they're going to go to the nations that have the infrastructure and technology to produce the equipment relatively cheaply and easily.

There will hopefully be a mod to make it bigger.

Podcat isn't even involved with this game!
