Clearly y'all are playing Alpha Centauri, the best Civ game that technically isn't.

Please, stop being sensible.

In all honesty, I never got the chance to play anything before Civ 3
CIV 2 - WWII scenario is still the most fun I've had in Civilization. Ever.

God my age is showing.

Hey, I've played CIV2 when I was younger, probably under or 10 years old. Playing CIV2 in my mind doesn't show age.

Germany was way too overpowered in that one. You could bomb France and later the UK to death with your ridiculous air force and use the paratrooper they started with to take over all the allied cities.

I liked the other scenario (the Rome one). I have fond memories of playing as the Ptolemaics, advancing quickly in terms of tech for a while, getting in horrible financial trouble so that my research slowed to a crawl, then switching to fundamentalism and having my science rate explode (because I had funding again) to the point that I had fighters by 100 BC or something. Which I needed because the Romans stole tactics (and therefore Alpine troops) from me with a diplomat (speaking of which, diplomats and spies were really fun units in Civ 2 and have become totally useless since).

Ah, good times.

Played all CIVs, my favorite is CIV IV. I've won the game as Emperor difficulty.

It really goes more micromanaging than I would like it. Never even bothered triyng immortal or diety, a suicide.

Just going to ask the GM this really quick.

How about instead of saying "Vote X" we say something like "Denounce X" :p

If it's done in a very clear way (bolded, bigger size text and separated from other text) I will accept it in this game. But be warned that it's much more prone to miscounting.

And yes, feel free to play as any Civ game you are most familiar with (though of course the intro video is from Civ 1). I think I played Civ 1 the most though I recall Gulf war scenario did get quite a bit of play on Civ 2.

My (English) Empire has iron, but more importantly has roads between each city and ports for all the trade income. Bellum Sine Fine.

Personally my dad let me play the complete Civ collection from I-III when I was around 8, so while I have technically played those games I'm most familiar with CivIV and CivV, though I lost the disc for IV year ago. I also only got Civ V because one of my steam friends is always gifting games around.

Kneel before me.

Nonsense, the ww2 scenario was the best! I recall replaying it endlesly... Literally. The only non paradox game I played more was Diablo I on dial up modem. Well technically I didn't play more but spent more time on it.

Good times indeed.

Deadline in 2 hours 25 minutes. Don't expect anything fancy as not only am I too tired to think but I also have misplaced all emulator games when upgrading the computer. *sigh*

Dawn of Civilization

With the lush landscape unveiled for various settler groups the process of civilising the region can really begin.

Already various leaders had made noises how the cradle of their civilisation was great and wonderful - or alternatively lamenting the poorness of the area. Only time will tell what they can make from their starting positions in the fierce rivalry between civilisations and the barbarian menace lurking nearby.

Night one

Established civilisations started their usual buildups for spreading out, improving technological level and increasing their military to contest others. Unfortunately the military buildup, urged by military councilor, came too late for one hapless civilization.

Queen Elizabeth would have been wise to build up her military defense before embarking on any other projects. Alas, barbarians on her fair island surprised the English and took their last city. Queen Elizabeth I of England and Ireland (AvatarOfKhaine), Civilization leader (villager), is gone. And despite her grandiose last words so is the English civilisation.

Oh well, at least that should leave more room for other, stronger civilisations to spread, right?

Is that actually a screenshot from Civ I? Because I rather doubt it with that level of detail of the queen. I used to play Doom, Doom II, Quake, Quake II a lot in the late 90s and I don't remember the graphics being anywhere near that. Similarly with the original Wolfenstein game.

It's from Civilization Revolution, a game that came out for the Xbox 360.

So is it TIE night? Vote switching day?
