Move over Leonidas. That was madness worthy of fortress Denmark.

Bravo, a wonderfully ludicrous tale that only the best HoI III games can produce! Allies and Comintern committing hundreds of thousands of men, thousands of planes, massive fleets and even an AI nuke drop, all to take little Athens!

Nice to see that in the end one Soviet division, one British and two US divisions were all that were left of their massive assault. A true display of grand cooperation (ehm...). I would assume that the post war partition of Athens would be even worse than real life Berlin, except there isn't much left of Athens to bicker about.

Any idea how many casualties the siege of Athens caused?

I can only echo the previous comments, an excellent bit of work with a suitably epic ending.

It's also confirmed to me that nukes in Hearts of Iron are disappointing and in no way at all worth the effort, at least if one is concerned with efficient gameplay.

To the victor: only ashes.

I missed the screenshot for the final battle statistics, but it was only the last of many-- so the final assault wasn't extremely casualty-heavy for the attackers.

Great praise coming from the author of the ridiculously detailed Butterfly British AAR. Thanks!

I absolutely hated this AAR for being so awesome!

Loved every last bit of it. Well done to you lad!

By far the best AAR I've read in quite a while. One question though, you always had a manpower pool of 90+, why not spend it on infantry & AT brigades? 90 MP can generate around 4 to 5 divisions of INF-INF-AT-AT I guess, those would have helped prolong the campaign. 1948 and you would have won due to the time expiry of the game, you were so close!
