In the land where the Hylian blood is strongest, Hyrule, King Gustaf the first king of Hyrule faces the monstrous hordes that seek to snuff out the new founded kingdom. Dev Log:
May 11 Races
Races:

Currently these are the races that are planned, they all have traits, cultures, I'm currently working on their buildings and dynasties.
"Human":
Regular* (Ordonian, Lybrynian, Horon)
Hylian* (Cobble, Hyrulean, Ho Ho)
Gerudo*
Wind Tribe*
Darknut*

Semi-Human:
Kokiri*
Anouki*
Twili*

Dieties:
Fairy
Demon
Deku Tree
Baga Tree

Lizards:
Alfos (Dino,Liz*,Aero)
Tokay*

Blin:
Moblin*
Bokoblin*
Bulblin*

Zora:
Zora* (Hyrulean (only at start))
Zola* (River Zora)

Forest Plant:
Deku Shrub*
Desert Plant:
Zuna*

Goron:
Goron* (3 current cultures)

* Will be in the game, come sacred realm or great flood.

Currently, I'm using Elder King's Marriage system, with korbah's permission (at least when I first started).

All races can breed within their group without difficulties. Humans Can breed with Semi-Humans with some difficulty, current wildcard is zora and humans (game shows they can be attracted to each other, but never touches on fertility). Deku (Shrub) and Zuna can reproduce with difficulty. Fairies and demons can reproduce with everyone, but each other, cause magic beings. Blin's can reproduce with humans and semi-humans with no problem.

These are not ALL races or cultures but most of them.
June 11 Hyrule
Hyrule is dived into 4 locations, 2 kingdoms and 2 empires

(Minish) Hyrule, the land originally settled and founded by the Hyrulean royal family, the location for minish cap, it is one of the smaller kingdoms and is inhabited by the Hyrulean culture at start, Located south west of Hyrule.

Hyrule, While it is a kingdom is a dejure part of the (Empire) Hyrule along with Death Mouthain, Ordon, Zora's Domain, and Gerudo Desert. It was during this time that the king of hyrule also landed the families personal assassins (the Sheikah). During the Downfall timeline the Empire is shattered and corrupted and the Hyruleans are forced once again to flee, don't expect that timeline anytime soon.

(Grand) Hyrule, located beyond the Lost wood and southern range of death mountain, Link between worlds and past. It was here which Hyrule was able to recover and Eventually regain an empire, reclaiming Hyrule and expanding to Greater Hyrule.

Great Hyrule (empire, from Adventure of Link, Legend of Zelda I, and most of the TV shows and comics. At this point the Hylians reach their height of power, until it once again crumbles, the empire is composed of 3 Kingdoms West Hyrule (Saria) East Hyrule (Kasuto) and Little Hyrule (Eldin). This empire is located east and north east of Hyrule. Unlike the previous Hyrules the land was already populated by humans, the Sarians, Kasutons, and the Eldins (descendents of the Dark Interlopers, while the Hylians did not exterminate them instead they interbred and soon the natives became indistinguishable to the Hylians. However much like in the Downfall time after the hylians reached their pinnacle they fell to Ganon, each kingdom separated.
September 6 Spirit Tracks content
After starting to play spirit tracks I've decided to have some of the content.

The 'Spirit Continent' is far to the west of the Hyrule Continent and is inhabited by 5 Species, 3 'good' and 2 'evil'. The peaceful Anouki inhabit the Snow realm, the Fire Goron rule in the Fire Realm, and the innovative Lokomo try to hold onto their last parts of the Forest Realm while keeping Malladus's Forces from conquering their desert strong hold. While the one of the last surviving Demons, Malladus, Rules the the two 'evil' species attempt to conquer the Continent, Malladus's forces are composed of the Bulblins in the forests of the forest realm, the Geozards, Malladus's own creations, control the Ocean Realm.

Hylians are not native to the 'Spirit Continent' however if they do land and spend enough time away from their Eastern cousins who knows they may develop their own culture.

However this still does NOT mean I will be touching the adult timeline, as the game engine can't handle the disappearance of a large, or any, section of the map. *Cough*Submod*cough*

Plans:
I will warn you this is not 100% cannon, as that would be impossible to achieve with the limited knowledge one can gain of the LoZ world. I am using noncannon zelda sources where there isn't enough information and theories and some minor head cannon (ok alot when it comes to zuna and darknut).

What's planned:
The triforce will be in it, though hopefully it can grant 'wishes', creation of titles, gain of titles, money (actually already have that down), people like you. One must obtain all 3 pieces and not have negative traits associated with it, i.e. power no weaklings holding it, courage no cowards, wisdom no wroth people.
Magic is only for certain groups or cultures or , no goron wizards.i.e. Wizrobes (mercanaries) and gerudo twins.
Link and Zelda will be in......it wouldn't be LoZ, they will 'respawn' every 100 years (after their deaths) or every other generation so long as there are those with their bloodline.

What's not going to be in it:
No different "worlds",i.e. it won't be possible to conquer terminia, there just isn't enough interactions between the two to warrant an extra continent. That doesn't mean there won't be some form of interaction between the worlds.
No different timelines, the only playable timeline will be child.....and maybe game over. The adult timeline is just to different to be able to pull it off without crashing the game.

Not sure is Darknuts should be classed as a race. I always saw them (along with Iron Knuckles) as being regular people wearing very heavy, possibly enchanted, suits of armour. I think it would be better to represent them as a cultural retinue (all heavy infantry) and/or with a character trait for individuals who are trained to fight in Darknut armour (slight boost to martial and health and a big boost to personal combat, maybe also prestige).

Funny, I myself have never seen Darknuts as actual living creatures, rather some kind of Magitech gear, i.e an empty suit of armor that has been magically enchanted to move and fight on its own.

Wind Waker has them as furries, along with the wizrobes, since this doesn't take place in the adult timeline I'm going with both are slightly unchanged (humans). The darknut's from Minish cap (earliest appearance timeline wise) armor has the same symbols as the Wind Waker darknut's armor, however the minish cap armor is less bulky (wide) and the helmet hides the entire face. The fluff I'm using is that the darknuts are an early offshoot of humans that are very militaristic (they are 'semihuman' mainly due to them being about 2 feet taller than the average hylian and wider). It is possible for people with the darknut culture to have darknut armor trait and not the race trait.

The iron knuckles are in and are a religion unit and trait, in OOT
Nabooru is sealed inside a suit of armor (red iron knuckle) and brainwashed to serve ganondorf, if one is to position the camera right on the other iron knuckles you can see a wide eyed gerudo inside the armor.

Dammit, you are right ! I never knew that before !

You might want to look at the Hyrule Total War mod for Medieval Total War 2 for ideas/inspiration. Though I do finds it annoyingly grimdark.

Already do, have some problems with how he has the timeline set out (it's pretty compact). I like grimdark, but don't expect anything darker than Twilight Princess or Majora's Mask, though those are still dark.

If you need help with Lore Writing, Faction Backgrounds, and trait ideas I'd be happy to help. However, one thing which I like about Hyrule Total War is the looming threat of Majora. Could you possibly have a chain of events (towns converting to Majora worship) and once it reaches a certain point, Majora is resurrected with a huge army to 'invade' a kingdom. Faction would be Empire of Majora if he conquers the Kingdom targeted.

Is this still being worked on?

Yes, but Fallout 4 is taking up alot of my free time. Currently working on governments

A majora chain was one of my first (invasion) plans. I don't want to go down Majora invades route as it needs a host to start. The threat from another dimensions demon isn't as big as that from the demons and want to be demons in your own dimension.

"A strange smiling man appears at the door to your main hall. The man tells you a tale of a land where masks hold magic powers and offers to sell you one before he leaves."

A. Buy one of the cheaper ones (you receive a short term prestige modifier) B. Buy one of the more expensive ones (you receive a magic mask item, prestige boost and stat boost based upon the mask) C.How much for that purple mask?

"The man smile fades instantly from his face and angerly insists the purple mask is not for sale."

A. Have the man escorted out of your home B.Tell the man to leave C.Have the man arrested and the mask confiscated

Stuff happens the character gains insane trait then possessed(majora) before he dies and a new deity is born. The county in which Majora rules auto converts to it's religion and gains an empire tier title. It can summon servants from Terminia.

Anything you want to add feel free to pm or post here.

Sounds great. Maybe the endgame threat should be Dark Link or the return of Demise. Another endgame threat could be the return of the Golden Goddesses, as sort of a 'cleansing the world of evil' horse. Imagine that Majora ruler and Ganon clashing with the Goddesses

Lore-Wise, I suggest maybe starting the game during a modified Ocarina of Time/Twilight Princess Scenario, so all the races could play a major role, and include most of the heroes.

Also, could you possibly consider adding Lorule in as a faction? They could have decadence since they lost their Triforce, and seek to take another one by force. Or they could be a horde faction, and have Hilda and Ravio as leaders. I would also like to see the Wizzrobe represented in some way.

End game I haven't thought of as that's...very long down the road.

I do have a bookmark planned for almost every major event in the child timeline. The first is at the founding of the 'kingdom' tier of Hyrule, the gorons, gerudos, and (hyrulean/lake) zora are still independent.

I didn't think of a decadence for the Lorule, the Lorule have a slight deviation from the games as they instead invade to try to find/steal the triforce. It wouldn't be very !FUN! if it's just 1 guy kidnapping people. Though have it inversed that decadence is good i.e. the Commercialists in ATE.

Wizzrobes and Darknuts are in game both of them are..pretty much noncannon and the inverse of each other. Both are a religion and culture. Both can be hired as mercenaries.

The wizzrobes doctrine, religion, hold that only the most magical can rule. They are one of the few cultures in game that has a large enough magic user population to field a mage and/or spell sword (think like Link in LoZ 2) unit. Their religion is like the norse religion vanilla as a non-theocratic hereditary head rules the 'church' (school).

The Darknuts doctrine, religion, holds that only the strongest may rule, default dejur rule of might. When they have both the religion and culture they can not build cities (though might be removed if to imbalanced) and focus mainly on Heavy infantry, culture has a huge buff on HI. Members of the culture also forge their own armor and weapons and those without are disliked. Their religion is ruled by a non-theocratic elected head, i.e. muslims.

Both have their own governments that don't like being 'subjugated' and both are sub-groups of humans like the sheikah, hylians, and gerudos. The Wizzrobes are closer to hylians, and appear so and the Darknut are a very early off shoot and and look like larger humans, unlike the other branches of humanity they are completely devoid of magical potential.

Wind
Wizzrobe
The hyrulean family
Hylians
Sheikah
Humans/Gerudo
Darknut should never receive any magic events

My idea for Lorule is more like a horde faction, with several spawning armies, like some of the nomads in horse lords, or like the mercenary bands in the mod Mercenary Kings. They would have causes bellies against Triforce holders, so Hyrule, or the Gerudo would be the regular invasions to happen in a campaign.
They would be called 'Triforce Invasions'. If Lorule wins the war, then they take a duchy (don't know if it could be randomized) and take the Triforce shard from the holder. They could have a flavor event like this:
Rebuild Lorule's Empire: Requires 1000 prestige, 400 gold, Triforce of Power, Wisdom, and Courage. Effects: Lose 400 gold, lose 1000 prestige, gain title: Empire of Lorule.
(This empire would be able to invade any duchy with the invasion cb)

I have some trait ideas that I'll throw together and post in the near future. Thank you for attempting an awesome Zelda mod for CKII!

(Also, I'm a bit curious. What are your plans for the map?)

I was thinking more they keep whatever titles they captured. Once they have a triforce their sole reason for invasion would disappear. They are more akin to aztecs with Hilda at the head and Kingdom of Lorule, empire tier. Everyone with ambition or demon religions has CB against triforce holder. The gerudo frequently launch 'raid' CB against the human cultures to get 'boyfriends' and form mercenary bands to gain boyfriends and 'boyfriends'..

The map

To the west is the "Spirit Continent" and to the east is "Hyrule Continent". HC is surrounded by 2 large islands, ~3 duchy islands to the south 2 small, 1 duchy, swampy islands to the east and a snow island to the north. Hyrule (Empire tier), (gamecube)tp/oot, is in the center right with Minish Hyrule and Grand Hyrule (LBW and LIT) to the south west and east. Great Hyrule (1st 2 games) are to the north east and to the north of Hyrule and west of Great Hyrule, in order of eastern most to western most is Calatia, Arcadia, the Valley of Wizzards (wizzrobe) and drablands. To the north of those is the Wayway mountains and the Hoho kingdom. In the center, to the left of Hyrule is the Zuna Desert, with Hytopia to the north east, and the Cobble kingdom to the west and coast. The sourthern portion of the continent is Labrynna to the (south) east with a portion of the deku woods on it's borders and (fairy woods) inside. The independent state of Port Town to the north, east and south east. To the west of the Deku woods is Holodrum.
